Saffron (Crocus Sativus L) is the dried thread-like stigma of the flower.

Saffron or ‘Kesar’ is the internal part of the flower and is usually called a plant that belongs to the Iris Iridaceae. The small size plant is usually grown at high altitudes in a specific season. Saffron can be used for many purposes like as a Spice while cooking, adding natural color in sweets, and Saffron as a wonderful herb in Indian Ayurveda.

Saffron is cultivated largely in Iran, Spain, and Greece. In Asia, some production also can be seen in Afghanistan and its natives.
