India is said to be as the fastest developing country only after China. Although in many fields India is doing exceptionally well, still the pace and development are lacking behind with the quality and facilities which are reaching to the public. Here, we talk about the quality and conditions of roads. As we all know India is having a huge network of roads. The road network is responsible for maximum transportation of carriage, goods, and people as well.

It is very evident with the available data as well that the maximum population of the country is connected through roadways. In spite of that, the quality of roads has been compromised very badly. Everywhere we can see the roads have been maintained after a period of time still the roads do not last for more than a year or we say a season i.e. rainy season especially. Within a year the roads are having big potholes and cause inconvenience to the travelers.

Not only the quality of roads is a concern whereas, but the color of roads also doesn’t look like the roads are good to go or are recently constructed. On one hand, the new roads are constructed to facilitate the public but on the other hand, within a day the roads are left dirty and filled with cow dung, waste, mud, etc. For this worse condition of the newly constructed road, it is hard to decide who should be blamed. The constructors, the passerby’s, the locals, the animals, or others should be blamed for this.

There is no doubt in saying that India produces a huge amount of waste and litters. All these waste are maximally dumped on the road by the locals and this gets all over the roads due to the regular movement of the vehicle over it, animals feed over that waste and make it scatter all over, and naturally as well.

Likewise, in other countries, just take an example of any developing country. In these countries, the roads are always clean and the waste and litter are not scattered over the road. The quality of the roads are good as well as, the road quality is also very good. Most importantly the public is very aware that they don’t throw waste here and there. As well as, the authorities do their work with complete responsibility as they had to be answerable for their activities. So, they had to provide the work at its top quality.

In contrast to all these points, in India, the authorities and public are not at all aware of their responsibilities. They all think just to make the flow of work anyhow. The common Indian mentality is that nothing makes any difference just if I change or don’t do this work. We always think, when everyone is doing this, then what makes a difference if I don’t do the same. As well as, the authorities and contractors are very much corrupt and do their work with perfection. They do all this so that they get new contracts and earn money frequently.

These are the few reasons according to which make the Indian roads worse in just a duration of a day. The people had learned to adjust with all these problems instead of complaining about it. Because ultimately we all know that we all are responsible for this problem in a way or other.
