How was the Divya Kumbh 2019?
Playing text to speech
Kumbh Mela is the gathering of innumerable individuals on the banks of sacred rivers. People gather from all around the globe without any formal invitation to mark their presence in the stream of Knowledge and Spirituality. Every year the gathering of people on the bank of the river develops a new city of tents. This temporary city every year going hi-tech as well as a modern city of tents.
Divya Kumbh 2019 was very much in demand and faced a mass gathering of people as compared to previous years. Not only from India whereas the foreign pilgrim’s count has been increased a lot. The huge gathering of people for a short span of time and at a limited area makes UNESCO list Kumbh Mela in 2017 as the “Global Intangible Cultural Heritage List”.
The arrangement and organization of Divya Kumbh 2019 is at a much larger scale and having a number of facilities for all pilgrims whether he is rich or poor, or from India or any other country. There was a hype that it is the cleanest Kumbh, and I would say the hype was true. The government and authorities did full justice with what they said. The arrangements are very good to facilitate the mass gathering as well as keeping their health and hygiene in mind. An army of workers has been on their toes to ensure the cleanliness of the ‘city of tents’. And the arrangements of toilets, shelters, and other things were also made for the handicapped pilgrims as well.
Under the ‘Paint my City Campaign’, the whole city has been narrating the Saga of Pride. Before entering into the area of Kumbh, the pilgrims could experience the Kumbh on the roads as well. The paintings on walls and buildings were also the helping hand to attract the attention of tourist and give some to see the whole city, by not making them stick to the Kumbh area only.
The Kumbh area also having huge and attractive religious as well as educational tents. These were the attractions which made visitors spend more time in Kumbh and learn about the diverse culture of not only the city but also of the whole city. This time the area coverage of Kumbh is just double of the previous years. It made little easy to handle such a vast crowd in the limited area. It surprised me when I learned that about the road network of 250 Km inside the Kumbh area only which make it the largest temporary city in the world.
The government authorities even made arrangements for the easy flow of the visiting pilgrims. For this, the government arranged bus service from Kumbh area to Railway Station and the Airport. As well as, the authorities ordered for closing all the schools and stopped the flow of private convenience to avoid the traffic congestion on roads during the special dates of Shahi-Snan.
It is predicted by the government that with this the Uttar Pradesh government will generate a huge revenue of about Rs. 1.2 Lakh Crore. As well as, it will benefit the neighboring state’s tourism too. In addition to this, the Kumbh Mela arrangements have generated about 55,000 new jobs in the Unorganized Sector.
After all these facilities, the security or the city and the Kumbh Area has not been comprised at all. The huge number of Police Force, CRPF forces were active in the whole city. The security of the city was on high-alert for 24*7 and ensuring the safety and security of each visitor, not only on the roads but also on the water as well. The floating Police Control Room has been ensured for the first in the Kumbh Mela for making the safety of people accurate.
