What should India learn from the war techniques of Israel and Lebanon?

Due to the ongoing threats along the borders, certain techniques were used in war by two countries with broad experience in combating hybrid warfare, Israel and Lebanon. The lessons that can be drawn from the continuing fighting between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah can be of considerable use for India as it seeks to build up its national defence. Currently, the main conflict going on in the Middle East is between Israel and Lebanon, in which Hezbollah used strategies of hybrid warfare in response to an overwhelming opponent, i.e., Israel. In the near hybrid warfare of Hezbollah, Israel has shown great strategic adaptability in handling expertise and organisational flexibility. Intelligence and surveillance have played a huge part in countering Hezbollah's threats of Israel. The recent fight between Israel and Lebanon can be seen as the manifestation of the fact that modern conflict has shifted to the Internet. It should be noted that Israeli strategy relies heavily on concepts of diplomacy and is designed to avoid a major war. The conflict between Israel and Lebanon has shown that civilians and the military must work together in order to address security risks.

As India strives to build prickly diplomatic relations with its neighbours, it must draw lessons about the war tactics used by Israel and Lebanon. The strategies used in the war between Israel and Lebanon give India interesting lessons on how it can enhance its national security. India could address security threats along its periphery through learning from newer threats, intelligence, and surveillance, building up cyberwarfare capabilities, and through the military where necessary but optimally combined with diplomacy. If these lessons are applied to its relations with the neighbours, India would be on a path to a reasonable degree of stability and security.
There is a need to harmonise civilian and military power in India to effectively fight new age threats. India should also follow a policy of a strong army and simultaneous attempts towards peaceful solutions of problems. If our country is to protect itself from threats from its southern neighbours, they should focus on the development of cyberwarfare. India needs to focus more on enhancing its intelligence and surveillance network so that no adverse entity becomes a surprising threat to it. The military of India should also be ready to learn and change while engaging the new threats and using state-strategising methods in fighting them.
