Pagers Explosion in Lebanon: Israel targets to destroy Islamic Terrorism.
Playing text to speech
On Wednesday, a pager explosion happened in many cities of Lebanon. Pagers kept in people's pockets, and hands suddenly started exploding in homes, streets, and markets. The series of blasts continued for about 1 hour from Lebanon to Syria.19 people died in the blasts in Lebanon. More than 3000 people were injured. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, the condition of more than 200 of the injured people is critical. Lebanon's extremist organization Hezbollah has blamed Israel for the pager blast and said that it will give a fair punishment for this sinful assault, both in ways that are expected and unexpected.
However, there has been no statement from Israel on this incident. According to the Lebanese government agency, the blast took place in areas of the capital from Beirut to Baka Valley. It is assumed that many top leaders of Hezbollah might have been killed or injured in this attack. The economy of Lebanon is very weak. There is a lack of resources in hospitals as well. Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, slammed the attack as a 'serious violation of sovereignty of Lebanon'
What is a pager? A pager is basically a small communication device that is being used for messaging. It was used extensively all over the world till the 1980s. However, after the advent of mobile and other technologies, the use of pagers almost stopped. Many terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and criminals still use pagers. As it is considered very safe compared to mobile or other communication devices and is not easily caught. Pagers are operated through radio waves. The operator can send messages from the pager on any radio frequency. The pager didn’t have a GPS or an IP address, so it can't be traced like a mobile phone. The number of the pager can be changed, due to which it is not easy to trace it. Once it is charged, it can be used for more than a week, whereas the mobile phone needs to be charged in one or two days.
Another question that comes in is, How did the pagers explode one after the other in Lebanon? If media reports are to be believed, it is said that there is a possibility that the pagers were hacked and the lithium batteries in them were overheated and detonated. The other reason can be that the explosives might have been put in the pagers during manufacturing or during supply.
If Hezbollah is to be believed that Israel is behind the attack in Lebanon, then what was Israel’s motive behind this attack? If reports are to be believed, then it might be possible that Israel did this to mentally harm Hezbollah. Israel might have thought that this attack will reduce Hezbollah's confidence. There is also a possibility that it was Israel’s attempt to destroy Islamic terrorism because Hezbollah is a Shia Islamist political party and paramilitary group in Lebanon Hezbollah believes that the destruction of Israel will bring about the reappearance of the Imam.
