Pakistan’s State-Sponsored Terrorism Exposed

Pakistan has been accused for a long time of sheltering and sponsoring terrorist groups and using them as proxies against India. The Pahalgam attack carried out in Jammu and Kashmir where terrorists attacked innocent civilians is the recent grim reminder of the role of the Pakistans in spreading terror. Such groups as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish, both of which are supported by ISI of Pakistan, enjoy complete freedom, launching bloody attacks. In spite of the world’s condemnation, Pakistan denies the involvement though the evidence strongly suggests its direct support to these jihadist outfits.

Lashkar-e-Taiba: Pakistan’s Deadliest Proxy

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) which was founded by Hafiz Saeed is behind heinous attacks such as 2008 Mumbai terror strikes. Declared to be a terrorist organization by the UN and US, LeT continues to function with its various names such as Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) to escape sanctions. The repeatedly releasing of the LeT leaders from Pakistan’s courts is evidence of state complicity. The group trains and arms militants to penetrate into India with all the support from Pakistan’s military establishment.

Jaish-e-Mohammed: ISI’s Suicide Attack Squad

The Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) headed by Masood Azhar is specialized in suicide bombings, among them, the 2019 Pulwama attack which claimed the lives of 40 Indian soldiers. In spite of being outlawed, JeM carries out its activities in an open manner in Pakistan; its chiefs speak incendiary speeches without any problems. The non-pursuit by Pakistan of Azhar is its double game – a pretence to be an ally in the “war on terror” and harbouring terrorists.

Pahalgam Attack: Latest Example of Pakistan’s Brutality

The Pahalgam terror attack a months ago, which was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF) – a front of Lashkar-e-Taiba again brings the same agenda of Pakistan which has not changed. Civilians and security personnel were ambushed and this proved that the proxies of Pakistan continue targeting Kashmir. TRF is nothing but another façade of LeT and an organization which is funded by Pakistan’s deep state with weapons in hand. Such attacks reveal Islamabad’s deceiving story on Kashmir.

Global Silence Encourages Pakistan’s Terrorism

Even in the presence of overwhelming evidence, the international community chooses to avert their eyes to Pakistan’s terror exports. Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey-listing has had minimal effects because Pakistan is still investing money in such movements as LeT and JeM. If only nothing tangible is done, in the form of harsh sanctions and isolation diplomatically, Pakistan will continue to let loose terror in India and beyond.
