On September 14, the girl was gang-raped 

The victim's family says the gang-rape incident with their daughter occurred on 14 September. According to the family, the girl went to the farm with her family to cut the fodder.

After some time, the girl's brother returned from the farm while she continued to forage in the field with her mother. The girl was some distance away from her mother at the farm. After some time, the girl's mother realizes that her daughter is not on the farm. When the girl's mother started looking for her, the victim was found in an unconscious state in another field.

The family has accused four youths of the village of the incident. The family alleges that four to five men attacked the victim from behind and pulled her from a dupatta and took her to a millet field and gang-raped her in turn. The girl's neck was badly injured in this incident.

Family raised questions on the role of police 

The victim's family has accused the police of not taking timely action. The family says that the victim had difficulty breathing when the bones of her body were broken and she needed oxygen from the start of the incident.

The family alleges that after four-five days after the incident, the police got into action. However, the police have denied the family's allegations. According to the police, he has been active since this incident. Police say she has arrested the accused Sandeep Ramu, Lavkush and Ravi in ​​the case. 

Police rejected the charge of rape 

Meanwhile, Hathras Police has denied the allegation of rape with the girl. Hathras Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer says neither Hathras nor the doctors of Aligarh have confirmed the rape with the girl.

The police officer, however, said that with the help of the forensic team, the doctors will investigate this charge. The police officer also denied reports of the girl's tongue being amputated. The police officer said, 'There are reports that the girl's spine was broken. This is wrong, the girl was murdered by strangulation and she suffered severe injuries to her neck bones. Because of this, the girl had to face many problems' 

Firstly girl was admitted to Aligarh 

After the incident, the first girl was admitted to JN Medical College and Hospital in Aligarh. Doctors at the hospital had described the girl's condition as 'critical'. The family says that considering the condition of the girl, she requested the police to shift the girl to AIIMS but the police took her to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The family alleges that the police did not expedite the case. 

Boil in politics 

The incident of Hathras gang rape and murder has brought the politics of the country including UP to a boil. The Yogi government of the state has come under attack from the opposition for law and order. In this case, the victim is from a Dalit family while the accused allegedly belongs to a higher caste.

After the death of the girl, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan along with his supporters protested outside the Safdarjung Hospital and demanded justice for the victim's family. After this incident, Congress, BSP, and SP have started targeting the Yogi government.

According to the NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau), the crime rate against women has risen up by 7 percent in the nation with one of the highest crime rate crimes being in the Uttar Pradesh where the BJP led government claims to be the best state.
