Messi Is the Best Only For Fans Not For The Game Which Made Him
Playing text to speech
A happening evening in Paris saw the world's most celebrated footballer Lionel Messi creating a new record. The Argentinian star won the prestigious Ballon d' Or crown award for the record sixth time.
Does this mean he is the best? By awards "might be" but going by his international circuit performance and the very spirit of the most famous sports football we can say "certainly not".
Not going with the cliched narrative of "haters gonna hate and lovers gonna love" we can simply state out why he's not the best. Mr. Lionel Messi might be the hero at Spanish football club Barcelona FC but he has proved out to be the ultimate zero while playing for his home nation Argentina.
Did he ever win any FIFA World Cup title for his side? Even with his own ideal Diego Maradona being by his side in the capacity of the team coach, Messi slipped out from reaching semi-finals leave behind capturing the title.
Messi is the current corporate face of the sport and that's why it is obvious that he will be featured in the sports awards ceremony. Where the already sold out bias jury will judge him to be the best merely through club-record, not the international one.
Due to this bias and favoritism much deserved but low-profile players like Netherlands defender Virgil Van Dijk miss out on the coveted title which belongs to them for their true patriot sportsmanship as they firstly play for nation then club.
