A daily busy and hectic schedule results in no time for a healthy workout and eating habits, it makes me worried about my health. In a short span of time, I put on a decent amount of weight. Which was quite disturbing and stressful to attain a healthy schedule. So, I just decided to ditch my bike and reach my office by walking and public convenience. Firstly, I tried it for two days and quite like my decision to ditch the bike for some time. Yes, I agree that public convenience requires just thrice the time I needed while covering the same distance by bike. But somehow it was satisfying for the health purpose.

I’ll suggest that ever individual must try it once or twice in a week and ditch their Cars and Bike. It will be very beneficial for all of us, not on an individual basis but also for the whole environment. In such an initiative every individual counts. It not only improves our health but also benefits the environment in a various way. So, I’m very much satisfied with my step that I contributed to saving the environment. I contributed a little in minimizing the release the amount of vehicle pollution, contributed a small amount in the earning of government by using the public convenience, and saved the fuel which is in limited amount and is the non-renewable source of energy. As well as, I find out some time to give for my health. It won’t be wrong if I say, it was a very good decision which works in various ways and covers all the positive point. All these things require a responsible attitude from every citizen and it’s high time to think over it and try to save all these resources for our healthy life as well as the future generation too.

I just tried to work over my health, but later I realized it has all these benefits too. So, why not to work for yourself and indirectly you are benefiting the environment as well. We all say for a healthy environment and to minimize the level of pollution, we need to plant more trees. But, I want to ask from all of you that, how many of us do it really? Why we expect that government is doing all these things and just our small step could not make a difference. In contrast to this, I’ll say every individual is important and every small step counts towards the improvement.

Let’s try to plant trees near you. Nothing much is needed, only pledge to plant one or two saplings every year on your birthday. Now, just look it in a wider image. An average life expectancy of 60 years, a person in his or her life from age 5 years to 60 years, can plant about 110 saplings, and suppose about one-fourth of plants survive then on an average a single person gets 25-30 plants in their lifetime. Now, let me take you towards a much wider image. If a person planted 25 trees in his or her whole lifetime. Then, think about the amount of population of India. Every single person has practiced this for the next 60 years of his or life, then the number of trees will increase at an unimaginable pace. As well as, we all can contribute to minimizing the level of pollution and make a much better surrounding. In this way, we all could be responsible for the amount of pollution we release through our vehicles and through respiration.

Now, let’s consider the other positive effect of opting the good habit of ditching the vehicle for a healthy life. After, reduction in pollution, we can contribute towards saving the ‘Energywhich we use without any second thought for the future availability. Adopting the habit of walking and using public convenience, I tried to save the little amount of fuel. If on an individual basis, I could contribute then if we all give a try to adopt public convenience (partially; I’m not saying on regular basis). It could make a huge difference and we all save a huge amount of energy unanimously. Natural Resources are very important to save and use it in a limited quantity.

Overall, I’m just trying to say that, don’t just escape from the situation by saying ‘what I can do individually?’ Just give your best and ultimately people will follow you, and who don’t want a better and clean environment. Just think I’m doing here then there might be many people who were doing the same at a different place. Let me summarize my saying with real-life work, “Jadav Payen”, a Padma Shri Awardee from Assam. He planted so many trees individually, that as a result, he planted the whole forest single-handedly. So, if he can do it, then why can’t we plant some trees in our whole life?
