The Menace of Islamic Terror Groups

ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Pakistan Lashkar-e-Taiba are terror outfits which have endangered international security. These are groups that take cover under the tenets of jihad but are in real sense acting under the dictates of a fanatical leadership that seeks to dominate. The terrorist attacks are still an extension of their ideology and aim at hitting not only the Western countries but also other safe countries like India to foment insecurity in societies. These terrorists distort the tenets of Islam to enable them justify acts of terror, baron knowing that the majority of Muslims in the world does not subscribe to this kind of behavior. Located in Punjab and spreads to other regions such as Kashmir, any connection to cross border terrorism poses a direct threat to Indian sovereignty.

The Jihadi Mindset: A Cult of Violence

The jihadi perception is about the obligation to kill ‘infidels’ and impose Sharia law. These people have a negative outlook on the world and mind-sets that pit the citizens against non-citizens. They recruit vulnerable youths with lots of encouragement for a Paradise while using religious fanaticism to carry out monstrous deeds. Their ideology extols death more than life; they spurn the concepts of peace and coexistence together with any modern culture. This was responsible for suicide bombings; beheadings as well as mass murders all in the name of implementing an incorrect version of Islam. The jihadi-disposition is not only a security issue, it is a cancer which needs to be eradicated.

Islamic Terrorists’ Hatred for Hindus

The Islamic terror groups are known to have a profound hatred towards Hindus who are classified as ‘kafirs’ or infidels who should be converted, subdued, or liquidated. This bigotry is evident in their hostility towards Hindu temples, pilgrimage and opposed communities in the Kashmir Valley and even in Bangladesh. The latter is linked to the Full Name, which does not cause any problems nowadays, while Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen openly call for the destruction of civilization in India. The malicious ones use their offenses in a way that targets the Hindu gods, festivals and culture with a purpose of provoking religious violence. This is not just a political but an active hatred in terms of elimination of Hindus in Kashmir and other states.

Brutality Against Innocent Civilians

Terrorists from the Islamic religion have no regard for human lives; they kill men, women, and young children without feeling any pity. Since the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Pulwama bombing, and most recently Pahalgam terror attack, where terrorists targeted a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims, their ruthlessness has surfaced out. They mainly operate in religious functions such as processions and pilgrimage sites which include Pahalgam where they fire at innocent men, women and children in celebration of their faith. These are cowards who target innocent civilians in markets, places of worship, and schools, among other facilities. In Kashmir, they have developed the culture of extra judicial killing of teachers, journalists, and moderate Muslims protesting the militants. Their objective is still the same today – to force people to be obedient through intimidation. The incident of Pahalgam is not the first episode; these groups are habitual of such acts whereby they kill innocents and spread mayhem for their nefarious designs of creating a communal divide.

India’s Strong Response Under BJP Leadership

The BJP government has not been soft on Islamic terrorism and has even taken decisive actions for the safety of the country. The air strikes/ surgical operation in Balakot, Pakistan clearly reflects that India has no tolerance towards terrorism. The action that removed Article 370 indeed exposed separatist cells and brought Kashmir into the Indian stream. The BJP government and its administration have weakened the jihadis mostly by cracking down on terror financing, UAPA laws, & intelligence. The policy of appeasement has not been practiced by the present Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government of India and it is unyielding against extremism. There is a clear indication that India will not stop until it gets at hubs of terrorists and their supporters.
