Imran Khan attributes his attack to the military and the prime minister.
Playing text to speech
To demand immediate elections, Imran Khan was leading a protest march to Islamabad. A man with a 9mm (about 0.35 in) pistol started fire while he was standing on the mounted truck. Imran Khan sustained a leg injury. He is no longer in danger, according to the local news outlets. One person was killed and many were injured in the mob.
Later, authorities said that they had apprehended a suspect in the attempted murder of former prime minister Imran Khan. I have no regrets, Naveed remarked in a video that was made public. The man on the video, identified by authorities as Naveed, stated, 'I am sad that he lived. He claimed that he acted alone, saying, “I did not like that he declared he is a prophet”.
Citizens recalled the murder of Benazir Bhutto, a former prime minister, speaking at a crowd protest in 2007.
Imran Khan, who aimed to transform Pakistan into an 'Islamic welfare state,' was deposed as prime minister by both the military and members of parliament. In Pakistan's history, there has never been a prime minister who served a full five-year tenure.
Regarding his attack, Khan levied accusations at the interior minister, the prime minister, and a major general working with the military's Inter-Services Intelligence spy organization. He claimed to have learned about the attack a day before when he made his first public appearance following the tragedy.
Arshad Sharif, a journalist, allegedly left the country after receiving death threats, and Imran accused the government of killing him. Khan claimed that he was the one who urged the man to depart the country as soon as possible.
It is conceivable that the military was involved in the incident since after being removed from office as prime minister, he claimed that his removal was not democratic. Governments have been overthrown by Pakistan military troops in the past. He remained silent on this subject while in the centre, indicating his allegiance to the military.
Election time is approaching, thus the harsh criticism of the government and the military in particular may be perceived as a ploy to win votes. Imran Khan has recently received accolades from the public. In my opinion, the opposition didn't intend to kill Imran Khan because they knew that doing so would increase public sympathy for him and increase the chances of PTI winning the election. They also know that Shehbaz Sharif will be blamed by the populace. They might be aware of the plan's implementers, but I don't believe they are responsible.
