21st June 2022, On the occasion of 8th International Yoga Day, a special lecture and yoga practice camp was organized at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Government PG College, Naini Prayagra

Philosopher and YogacharyaDr. Indu Prakash Singh gave a lecture on the topic 'Solution of physical and mental problems and healthy life through Pranayama and meditation' and got yoga practiced. Dr. Singh threw light on the historicity of yoga from the time of Harappa, Mohenjodaro to the Vedic period, Upanishad period, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yoga of Lord Buddha, and the status of present Yoga. 

 

Dr. Singh gave a detailed lecture on five types of Pranavayu- Prana, Apana, Samana, Vyana, Udana, etc. under Pranayama. Referring to the methods of Pranayama and Anuloma _Viloma, Pranayama, Kumbhaka, Rechaka, and flow of Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna Nadi and Kundalini Chakra- Muladhara chakra, Swadhishthana chakra, Manipura chakra, Anahata chakra, Vishuddha chakra, Agya chakra, and Sahasrara chakra. Energy flow and Throwing light on the method of awakening Kundalini, along with a comparative analysis of the hormonal glands, pituitary gland, etc. with the locations of the Kundalini chakra, described this knowledge as a boon for modern medical science. Highlighting its importance in the solution of diseases caused by hormonal glands, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, hypertension, depression, etc.

Dr. Singh also threw light on the classification of yogasanas and urged the general public for simple postures and those who have many difficulties like spondylitis, heart disease, blood-related disorders, head injury, and hernia, instructed them not to do some special types of yoga. 

 

Dr. Singh said that the Kundli Chakra is not a mystery, it can be awakened easily through pranayama and meditation. Dr. Singh said that the only cure for psychosomatic diseases is the practice of yoga. In modern times, the increasing frustration among youth leads to depression and suicide. The solution to the trend was told through Pranayama, as well as highlighting the mobile addiction and lack of concentration in the students, he said that concentration and mobile phone addiction can be got rid of by the practice of Tratak Kriya.

 

Dr. Singh said that it is necessary to do purification and asana before pranayama and meditation. Presenting the details of the relationship between yogasanas and hormones, he said that yoga has to be practiced to balance the happy hormones-dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin, only then the person becomes happy. And can live life with a healthy body, about 2 hours of lectures and exercises Professors, staff and students of the college participated and all got benefited from the knowledge of Yoga.

The said program was conducted under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Sunanda Chaturvedi and according to the guidelines received from Mission Shakti Abhiyan, National Service Scheme Lucknow issued by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, and the guidelines received from Professor Rajendra Singh Rajju Bhaiya State University Prayagraj.
