Canada is another Pakistan, giving birth to terrorism

Playing text to speech

Canada is associated with a harmonious multiethnic population and a country free of extremist rule. Some have now started to compare Canada to Pakistan—to how the latter appears to host the terrorist while doing nothing about it.

Khalistani groups have ramped up their activities in Canada in recent years and have been involved in several acts of violence, including against Hindu places of worship, property harassment, and threats against people who do not align with their views.

Just as Pakistan has been accused of hosting Islamist terrorists, Canada is now accused of hosting Khalistani terrorists.

Violence against Hindu temples in Canada is not simply mere petty extremist acts; it forms a constituent part of terror to muzzle opposition. These incidents have created concerns among the Hindus and other people of faith across Canada to question the government and its ability or willingness to protect people of all faiths on this soil.

Although the government acknowledged these acts as unlawful, there is not much effort made to punish those who are involved in these actions. Such negligence is very similar to the Pakistani government’s policy of encouraging extremism under the guise of maintaining the façade of order known as peace.

Many still feel vulnerable due to the Canadian government’s failure to stand up to Khalistani terrorists. The message seems clear: If groups can operate with impunity, then other communities are in effect endangering themselves. This is similar to how Pakistan has constantly let terrorist groups operate while normally using some of these groups for political bargaining without really caring about the consequences on national and regional stability.

Canada has permitted extremism to increase thanks to a culture of impunity.

The recent incidents of defacing Hindu temples and threats are some pointers to the worsening situation. These acts are not vandalism; they are acts against Canadians and their multicultural society, which Canada is.

The Need for Action

So, what can be done? Of specific importance for the Canadian authorities is to set an example and condemn all kinds of radicalism and extremism, no matter the nature or background of this phenomenon. This means disapproving of violence as well as procedures meant for punitive measures against those who perpetrate violence.

The Hindus and all the other good citizens of this country have to speak up and seek justice. The question must be asked: can we begin to have honest conversations about terrorism in Canada and how deeply rooted hate ideologies can manifest?

Conclusion: A Call for Unity

Terrorism and extremism are no doubt threatening issues, and so it is with Canadian society. If the country does not act on these recommendations, then it is most likely to transform into another Pakistan, a country in which terrorism is allowed to act in the disguise of politics.

People in Canada must be willing to kick and fight terrorism, and all dressed in unison. Therefore, the need to continue standing as one and protect our society from?

I must emphasise it here by keeping up with the peace and togetherness that is upheld, for we cannot have a safe community go up in flames. Such issues remain important for the future of Canada as they are for every nation in the world in the context of a globalising society, where those conflicts must be solved.
