Criminals ruling I.N.D.I.A.

Playing text to speech

BJP leaderDinesh Sharma, on 22 July, Saturday, was seen criticising the newly formed opposition alliance "INDIA", alleging that the party was full of corrupt people who have a criminal history.

“The TMC chief will work for her nephew, NCP's Sharad Pawar will work for his daughter, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah will work for his son (Omar), RJD leader Lalu Yadav will work for son Tejashwi, and (SP chief) Akhilesh Yadav will work for his clan."

BJP's Dayashankar Mishra told the reporters in Ballia,

“INDIA could never dominate 'Bharat' and 'Hindustan.' It was the name given to the country by the British. The name symbolises the era of slavery.”

“Rahul Gandhi sometimes starts considering himself bigger than the country. He does not know how to respect the sentiments of the country."

Amongst the leaders of the opposition alliance, names like Nitish Kumar, Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah and Mamta Banerjee are surfacing the limelight of controversies. Questions arise whether such leaders with a corruptive background can actually bring down the ruling government collectively?

Nitish Kumar is a controversial figure in Indian politics, and he has been accused of corruption on several occasions. Some of the most serious allegations against him include:

  •  In 2007, he was accused of accepting bribes to award contracts for the construction of a railway line.
  • In 2011, he was accused of misappropriating funds from the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority.
  • In 2015, he was accused of awarding contracts to companies owned by his relatives.

In addition to the specific allegations of corruption, Kumar has also been criticized for his close ties to the business community. Some people believe that he can compromise the public interests for his own selfish motives.

Other leaders like Sharad Pawar, leader of the NCP, has a similar history. To fulfill their selfish agendas, they can go leaps and bounds to misuse the nation and its resources.
Some of the most notable allegations against him include:

  • The Maharashtra Cooperative Bank scam of 2010, where he was alleged for missapropiating funds from the state cooperative bank.
  • The Maharashtra irrigation scam of 2011, where the CBI registered a case against Pawar and several other NCP leaders for allegedly causing losses to the state exchequer through irregularities in irrigation projects.
  • The ₹539,000 crore money trail in 2013, when a report by the PGurus website alleged that Pawar and his family had accumulated ₹539,000 crore in a London-based company.
  • In recent years, Pawar has faced increasing scrutiny over his alleged corruption. In 2019, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided several properties linked to Pawar and his family. The allegations against Pawar have damaged his reputation and tarnished the image of the NCP. However, Pawar remains a powerful and influential figure in Indian politics.

Nonetheless, Rahul Gandhi, the leader himself, has nearly lost his reputation in the past year's, and a party with such leaders leading an opposition alliance can most likely turn out to be a mockery to the Indian Democracy.
