If sleep paralysis is caused by another condition, such as anxiety or depression, treating that condition may help reduce or eliminate episodes of sleep paralysis. In some cases, therapy can be helpful in managing anxiety and depression. If you have sleep paralysis as a result of stress, relaxation techniques may help lessen its frequency or severity.
