India’s Shubham Gill has created history by becoming the youngest cricketer to score 200 runs in one day cricket. He achieved this feat at an age of just 21 years, when most of his peers are still trying to make it big in their careers. Shubham’s performance sent shock waves across the cricketing world and his fans were left awe-struck with his amazing batting display.

Who is Shubham Gill?

Shubham Gill is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian Under-19 cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm off-spin bowler. Gill made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy on 6 October 2016.

In December 2017, he was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2018 IPL auction. In January 2018, he was named as the captain of India's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In the tournament, he scored 372 runs and was named as the player of the tournament as India won their fourth title.

What did he achieve?

Shubham Gill became the youngest player to score runs in one day cricket when he made his debut for India against England in January 2017.

He was just 19 years and 110 days old when he achieved the feat, eclipsing the previous record holder, Sachin Tendulkar, who was 19 years and 213 days old when he scored his first runs in one day cricket against Pakistan in 1989.

Gill made his debut in style, scoring a brilliant century off just 102 balls to help India clinch the series 3-1.

He followed up his debut century with another fine knock of 95 against New Zealand in the second ODI, helping India win that match by six wickets.

With two centuries in his first two ODIs, Gill announced himself on the international stage in style and is sure to be a key member of the Indian team for many years to come.

How did he do it?

Shubham Gill, who is just eighteen years old, made his debut for India in an ODI cricket match against England on Sunday. He became the youngest player to score runs in an ODI match, and did so with a brilliant innings of 47 off 38 balls.

Gill came to the crease after England had made early inroads into the Indian batting line-up, and steadied the ship with some calm and composed batting. He played some beautiful shots all around the ground, and looked completely unfazed by the occasion.

He was finally out caught behind by Jos Buttler off the bowling of Chris Woakes, but not before he had ensured that India remained in the hunt for a victory. His innings was a joy to watch, and bodes well for the future of Indian cricket.

Who are some of the other young cricketers making a name for themselves?

There are a number of young cricketers making a name for themselves in the world of cricket. Some of these include Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently the spearhead of the Indian bowling attack, and Rishabh Pant, who is considered to be one of the brightest young talents in the country. Other young cricketers who have been making a mark in the international circuit include Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan.
