It began in France from January 9, 1839. At that time the Dogorotype process was announced, which is considered to be the world's first photography process.

This process was invented by Nicéphore Niépce and Louis Daguerre of France. On August 19, 1839, the French government announced this invention and obtained its patent. 'World Photography Day' is celebrated in memory of this day.
