Decoding The Curse Of Untouchability

Playing text to speech

The meaning of untouchability is To stay away from anyone and to consider touching it as a sin. Hate and hateful treatment of low and marginalized castes in society. This type of behavior and work has been going on in our country for centuries.

Therefore, the orthodox system has not yet been cleared in our country. Even today, it is based and operated based on varna system. As a result, according to our social system, the most vulnerable and neglected caste is considered untouchable to be considered neglected.

History of untouchability

Our varna system is a Manuvadi system. That is, it was arranged by Manumaharaja. According to his system, our entire society is divided into four varnas. Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras.

Among them, Shudra castes are inferior to the three castes and kept in low order. From this point of view, it is looked upon most. It was based on the division of work and role in the society not for social status and fascists started making it a class-based system.

This is the reason. It is that to date it has not got the requisite and proper place in society. On this basis, it has to be forced to do the dirtiest, dirtiest, and deplorable deeds. As a result, he is not able to achieve progress and happiness according to himself.

Inhuman behavior towards untouchability: Our society has been taking inhuman steps towards untouchability to date. In other words, there is no sympathy and sympathy for untouchability in our society.

Animalistic behavior towards them is the result of our society. This is the reason that from very ancient times, the Shudras, ie untouchables, were kept far away from the basic necessities of life. They are kept away from settlements. They have been forced to drink water from the pits, being denied all kinds of rights.

On touching them, not only those who touch them, but they are given harsh and big punishment. In this way, they neither got the right to visit any house nor did they ever get any permission to visit or enter the holy places like temples, pilgrimage sites etc.

All such restrictions were restrictions imposed by all varnas. Those who were employed for the purpose of downtrodden and downtrodden in every way. With this, he has avoided any part of the freedom and happiness of untouchability, so he always remained untouched by enjoying the opportunities of his marriage etc. Tight and unhappy with this type of restrictions, once Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had clearly told Mahatma Gandhi.

Measures to remove untouchability: Removing untouchability is great humanity and there is a great crime and great stigma towards humanity and God, Swami Dayanand was the first to try to remove untouchability.

He embraced the untouchables and attacked the high-pitched stereotypes. After this, Mahatma Gandhi tried to great extent to solve this problem. To this, he said, "untouchability is a gross crime against humanity and God" for this, he not only gave speeches, but he made every effort to remove this discrimination by staying with them in the colonies and settlements of untouchables.

That is, by giving the tanners the name of Harijans, they paved the way for their sympathy and humanity. This removed the spirit of untouchability spread in society to a great extent. The times of atrocities were reduced on him. He started getting respect.

The present condition of untouchability: The present condition of untouchability is very satisfactory. The constitution of independent India made special laws for untouchability. Constituent architect Dr. Ambedkar showed utmost sympathy towards untouchables i.e. untouchables.

This is because they themselves belonged to this category. Expressing his deep sympathy for the untouchables, he enacted several laws for their salvation, under this, special sections of the constitution to provide them reserved positions in different positions of different types of government departments to elevate the untouchables at the economic and social level. Created. These have led to the expected improvement and development in the conditions of untouchables.

The year 1990 According to the Mandal report, the then Prime Minister Shri Vishwanath Pratap Singh made a successful attempt to make his position more firm and stable by providing a 40% reservation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes in government spaces.

Untouchability is a major obstacle in the development path of our society and nation. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to resolve this problem in some way. Therefore, it is necessary that all the upper classes of society behave sympathetically and cunningly. This is possible only when the message of the awakening of public consciousness spreads throughout the society and the nation.

In this way, there will be a huge change in the traditional mindset through public awareness and public consciousness. As a result, all untouchability will not only be expected to improve on the standard of living. He will rise very high. In this way all the untouchables will get the right to live equal lives of all sections of society. In this way the curse of untouchability from our country society will be transformed into a boon.
