Playing text to speech
The current digital era is wooing people in fresh new ways. It is true that today its role in providing fast information in the country and the world cannot be denied, but at the same time there are many challenges which are really worrying for us, and which have to be addressed in time.
There is often talk of fake people running YouTube channels. During the lockdown, the discussion got louder, as journalists were allowed to go out in spite of strictness, so those journalists who had cameras on their shoulders and mobiles in their hands and they themselves were journalists of a YouTube news channel Used to tell.
The lockdown period also brought complaints from registered and authorized newspaper personnel that newspaper reporters and photographers were in trouble when videographers of YouTube news channels would stand in front of someone while interviewing and stand behind them. Falls. In such a situation, some journalist organizations attracted the attention of the government.
At some places, the administration also took suo moto cognizance that those who ran news channels on YouTube would not be considered journalists. Its basis is that those who run the news on YouTube are not registered with any government agency in the country. Therefore, accredited journalists and those who work as journalists in a registered newspaper will be able to cover government offices and fixed programs.
Many local YouTube-based channels have emerged across the country, competing with local news in news and national and international topics, TV, and print media. These channels also make news of all the celebrations, big and small, by presenting news. Local citizens also invite those said channels to private programs.
And such reports generate advertising and revenue for the said channel. Due to every small news being presented in populist ways, these YouTube-based news channels are also getting mass support. But the thing to note is that even though these YouTube channels gather news in the society and collect revenue, but the representatives and the operators working in the said channels do not have any government control nor Somewhere they are registered. For this reason, they arbitrarily publish the news by distorting the facts.
In the last March itself, the Central Board of Secondary Education had filed an FIR on 76 news channels running on YouTube. They were accused of misleading students by putting videos of fake news such as CBSE 10th and 12th exam papers leaking, question paper purchases. CBSE also released a list of these 76 YouTube channels. The secretary of the board also said that these channels have been running fake and rumor-mongering news for the last two years.
However, if the government wishes, it can be controlled. Based on the complaint, action can be taken against them under the CrPC sections. The YouTube-based news channels were recently declared unauthorized by the Information and Public Relations Secretariat of Maharashtra. Since there is no registration of YouTube-based channels, they do not currently have any control over them.

The irony in this regard is that these YouTube news channels neither require any qualifications nor do they have any degree. If we talk about news channels, they are properly registered and they buy space from the government for broadcasting, due to which they are also controlled by the government.

There is a department called Office of the Registrar of Newspapers for India for registration of newspapers in the country. Only the newspaper registered there gets the benefit of advertisement through DAVP.
The government currently has no direct control over the YouTube news channel. The main reason for this is that the government has not been able to make any rules and regulations in this regard.
The government should control these by making rules and regulations. Its premise may be that only those YouTube channels which are registered under the rules are given advertisements and other facilities. In such a situation every YouTube channel would like to register. With this, fake news and mis-served channels can be curbed.
