Irony of India: Even Constitution can't Define Minority

Playing text to speech

India holds the record of having the world’s longest written constitution but it couldn’t explain the definition of Minority Category. Famously, India is a Hindu dominant country. The Constitution mentioned Muslim, Christians, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhist, and other religions belong to minority category in India. But the question arises what about the States of the Country?

Each state of the country holds a different ratio of religion and still the criteria for minority hold the same. There are many states in India where Hindus are in minority but there is no provision for them. Why there is so much discrimination among people in different states? And the interesting thing to analyze is that it took 7 decades of India’s Independence for people to understand this. Instead of that, only a few people have voiced their concern over this issue.

Irony of India: Even Constitution can

The Seven Sisters State in India having Christians in Majority and Hindus were maximum 2-5%, whereas, in Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, and Lakshadweep Muslims are in majority. Still, in these states, Muslims and Christians are enjoying the privileges of the Minority Community. Why so much difference? In this reference, I’ll say the State Examinations for jobs are useless who give privilege to these so-called minorities.

The definition of Minority concludes that people to understand that the State Exams are worthless and it’s not important to consider the fact. Just follow the incomplete and inefficient constitution regarding minority issue.

The majority and minority in term of the whole country are acceptable but in State-wise categorization is not acceptable. If States follow the same then it is not right for everyone. In 2006, the government finds it important to form a separate Ministry for the Minority but they didn’t realize to analyze the States who are having Hindus as a minority.

In a Hindu dominant country, the Hindus have been ignored by the government to promote the other religion. The government didn’t bother to see Hindus as a minority and they also require some privileges in these states. Just to earn the vote bank, the government tried to do everything for the minority and ignoring Hindus, whereas, after a little voice over this issue the present government, as well as the Supreme Court, is trying to take a look over it.
