Devotees arrived in Prayagraj while Work is Still in Progress

Playing text to speech

About 2,500 Crore has been devoted to the preparation of the Kumbh in 2019 by the State Government. Approximately 2 weeks have been left for the first bath i.e. ‘Shahi Snan’ to start the Kumbh, and the devotees have started to come over for about a 3-month halt near the Sangam Area in Prayagraj. But the level of facilities the government has planned to provide, are yet to be completed.

Devotees arrived in Prayagraj while Work is Still in Progress

For the mass public gathering, the government introduced various changes and included new facilities for not only the pilgrims on a temporary basis whereas for the citizens of the city on a permanent basis. But it seems like the step taken by the government is turning out to be a ‘hard fish to catch’. The projects and work have been stepping up at such a vast level that it seems like, to be a never-ending process.

There is no doubt in saying that, this type of work and renovation is the need of the city but the preparation was mainly started by keeping the Kumbh 2019 gathering in mind. Now, the Kumbh will start in about 2 weeks and the work is still pending. The whole city has been engulfed under the clouds of dust.

Not only the city, the Railway Station area from where the maximum of pilgrims will arrive and head towards Sangam Area is having a lot of work pending to be done. The roads, the breakers, the dividers all are at an unfinished point. How we can say the preparation is for to ease the various facilities for the pilgrims and the citizens as well.

Even the Allahabad High Court is very much concerned about the speed of work. Continuing the work at the different areas while the Kumbh going on would be very difficult and cause inconvenience to the pilgrims.

Why the government took under the whole city at a time for the change and providing facilities? Why the government didn’t opt for work in phases? This type of mismanagement shows the government didn’t plan well. They just put their hand in different works and into the whole city but didn’t think about how much time would have been needed to finish the whole work. Right now everyone is asking how long? When this work will finish and we get rid of so much dust?

The most important thing is that the State Government has realized the need of the people and tried to focus over other cities which have been neglected for a long time. In spite of that, the authorities have tested hugely the patience level of commuters. Not only the bad roads and traffic but the huge amount of pollution due to dust is still being a matter of concern for the outgoers.
