10 things I've learned as an intern at MindStick.

Professional Work Culture

My internship at MindStick taught me how to fit in a working environment. The hierarchical work culture preached discipline, accountability and working as a team. Being able to adapt to deadlines and the workplace ethics was another step towards the transition of my mindset to a professional one. This exposure provided me with great knowledge on how organizations work and the expectations in a corporate environment.

Technical Skills Development

The internship was practically based, and thus reinforced my technical capabilities. It enhanced my knowledge of coding, allowed me to use the actual tools, as well as to use the concepts I previously studied theoretically. Engaging in technical activities with the supervision of professionals made me get confidence in my skills. This will be an effective building block in my career development.

Importance of Communication

Communication was one of the important things that I learned. Effective communication was not authorized only when explaining ideas, working with group members or presenting progress. Such relationships were not only more beneficial to my learning experience but also created future professional opportunities, so I would say collaboration is one of the most valuable elements of the internship.

Time Management Skills

The ability to do several things simultaneously in the internship has enhanced my organizational skills. It made me learn how to manage time, because meeting deadlines and prioritizing helped me learn how to achieve the needed quality production. The ability is irreplaceable in academics as well as in career. Being able to work on my time management skills has made me more effective and ready to address intensely busy situations in future.

Confidence Building

Every work done with success made my confidence grow during the internship. Mentors helped me be proactive, able to present my works, and speak loud of my ideas. This assisted me in stepping out of a box and enhanced my belief in myself. Speaking to groups, making presentations, and going through interviews I feel more settled and ready to engage; due to the experience that I got today. One of the most notable aspects gained by me while being at MindStick is the development of confidence.

Exposure to Industry Standards

The internship allowed me to have a clarity of industry professional expectations. The creation of code, documentation, and testing occurred in a systematic manner. Acquiring the knowledge of these standards made me understand the value of quality and other factors, such as precision and consistency in corporate work. The exposure allowed me to understand the way business companies work and equipped me to deal with my future professional life.

The greatest lesson that I garnered during my internship was the realization of the career path.
