Top 7 biggest snakes in the world

1. Green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus)

The green anaconda is the largest snake known to man and there are records of some members of this species reaching up to twenty feet in length with weights over 500 pounds. Lives in the swamps of south America and hunts for the capybaras and caimans with which it effectively constricts. It is not the longer one but the fact that it is thick makes the legislation very strong. Females are larger than the males and more adapted for an aquatic lifestyle with which it can lure its prey.

2. Reticulated Python (Malayopython reticulatus)

Reticulated python is the longest-recognized snake in the world with confirmed sightings of more than 30ft. It belongs to the Asian region and is mostly found in the tropical rainforest environment, especially areas with humidity. It has a very distinct pattern on its fur and is known to be rather hostile towards prey such as mammals, birds and even the deer. It has an extremely long body with a muscular body thus, making it a master of the food chain. It is not as large as the anaconda, but it lacks nothing in the speed in which it can stretch as well as coil.

3. Burmese Python (Python bivittatus)

Burmese pythons, measuring up to 70 feet in length, are among the world’s biggest snakes that originate from southeast Asia but are unwanted in Florida. They are proficient in swamps and forest, and eat big animals like alligators and deers. They are formidable mainly because of their high growth and reproductive capacity. Regardless of this, they are kept in captivity commonly, although one has to take care while handling them since they are quite powerful creatures.

4. African Rock Python (Python sebae)

The African rock python is the largest snake in Africa and attacked a man who is more than 20 feet in length. Living in the savannas and near water bodies, it feeds on antelopes, crocodiles and even largish cats. Unlike other pythons, it moves down with so much aggression and is most dangerous as it waits to strike before attacking. That is due to the thickness of its body and the body coils with which it is endowed, which enables the beast to ambush, kill, and devour the prey larger than itself, which makes it the king of the jungle.

5. Amethystine Python (Simalia amethistina)

Alternatively known as the scrub python, the maximum size of these snakes is over 15 ft with claims of up to 20 ft. It is endemic to Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea where it lives in the natural forests and cliffs. It feeds mainly on bats, birds and small mammals as it adapts well to tree climbing and is a fast runner. It is not as massive as other monsters but it is not scrawny either; it has slender muscular body armor on its outer skin and its scales shine like a mirror with some rainbow colouring.

6. Yellow Anaconda (Eunectes notaeus)

The yellow anaconda though it is a bit smaller than the green anaconda measures up to 15 feet long and is a formidable predator in the wetlands of South America. He also feeds on fishes, birds, and small mammals and grip with his strong coils and suffocates the prey. Suitable for combat scenes because it is not as large as the green one but is faster and looks like it wants to fight. This is because its body is yellow and black and the aquatic environment of its habitats consists of marshes.

7. Boa Constrictor (Boa constrictor)

Boa constrictors can grow up to be of large size, not the largest but can be bigger than thirteen feet and very muscular. Locally known to inhabit central and South America, the animals live in regions with favorable climates of forests and grasslands feeding mostly on rodents, birds, and monkeys. Their fame is earned due to their significantly potent constriction, having the ability to pin their prey. Favored by captivity, they are still dangerous wild animals. Though not as large as pythons and anacondas, they remain promising and strong reptiles; they belong to the list of giants.
