How India should balance its international politics in today's world?
Playing text to speech
India is a republic with a multiparty parliamentary democracy. India has a significant role in global affairs. Today, India has emerged as one of the most influential countries. India has its presence on all continents. Ever since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, India has seen a lot of development. He has taken India to new heights of success. Modi has maintained some strong bond with some neighbouring countries and has also build some strong foreign relations with countries around the world.
Modi has given priority to economic development, infrastructure, foreign relations, and foreign investment. Today every country is looking for investment opportunities in India and wants to invest too. Currently, India is one of the four emerging economies of the world that can overtake the US. India is a member of the United Nations, the G-20, the World Trade Organization, and much more. But the Modi government needs to work more on international politics because international politics helps to know how powers operate within and between states under the international arena. International politics is concerned with topics like foreign policy, national interest, and conflict resolution.
Although India has been famous all over the world for its political decisions and activities since the beginning, understanding international politics is important for every country, including India. India needs to stay updated about international politics for its betterment and should maintain foreign relations. Since foreign relations work on a basic principle: as long as you are benefiting them, they will help you, and as soon as you stop benefiting others, they will also change their interest. Modi believes that the three Ds that drive India’s relations with other countries are democracy, demography, and demand.
Earlier It was very difficult for India to maintain a balance in international politics, especially in the initial phase, but the image that India has been able to create in the world today is the result of years of hard work and struggle. Today, India has a new voice on the global horizon. India’s foreign policy works on five basic principles: mutual respect for each other’s land, mutual non-violence, mutual non-interference, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence. Although India’s foreign policy has a good mix of all the things that are necessary in a country’s foreign policy, still some changes are needed in it. India has made its place in the world. It has emerged as a constructive player. India has always come forward and has helped many neighboring countries in their difficult times.
From the last 10 years, every country has seen India as a potential competitor and a strong nation. India is balancing its international politics very well, but India still needs more balance so that India can establish a potential place for itself in international politics as compared to other countries. India should work more on the given points so that there is proper balance and stand in international politics. Because in today’s time the standards and dynamics of international politics have changed a lot.
Realistic diplomacy
Maintaining power balance for own benefit
Multi-alignment approach
Growing economic relations
Intervention over interference
Global problem-solving approach
Active and impartial aid
Balancing internal and external development
India is emerging as a global leader in international politics. But India still needs to work more on the above-mentioned points so as to maintain the balance in international politics while maintaining good relationships with other countries around the world.
