How India should deal with Unemployment?

Playing text to speech

Unemployment occurs when a person is employable and ready to do a job but does not get a suitable job based on his qualifications and skills. Unemployment occurs due to globalization, economic fluctuations, lack of access to education and training, technological advancement, lack of opportunities. Unemployment is a major problem in every country around the world and especially in developing and underdeveloped countries

Unemployment is a serious problem for India as millions of people are unemployed. Our economy is growing and developing but it still needs more growth. The problem of unemployment in India is getting worse due to the increasing population. Increasing population is affecting the unemployment rate in India. India has a population of 1.4 billion and the unemployment rate is increasing with the increase in population. According to the report of Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), the unemployment rate of India is 9.2 in 2024 while the unemployment rate was 8.3 last year. The past and current rate of unemployment shows us a significant change in the unemployment rate. Unemployment is a serious issue that affects individuals, societies, and nations. It is also becoming a serious problem for India and its people. India can control unemployment by taking necessary measures such as -

•        Change in industrial  techniques

•        Change in Education Pattern

•        By giving more assistance to self employed people

•        Promoting labour intensive  industries

•        Decentralisation of industries

•        Drafting national employment policies

•        Encouraging Public private partnership

•        Encouraging startups and entrepreneurship

•        Enhancing rural employment opportunities

•        Teaching Job Skills to people

The Indian government is taking necessary measures to control the unemployment rate. The government is introducing several schemes and policies to control the problem of unemployment in the country. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme, Start-up India, etc. are examples of some of the policies introduced by the government. The government is trying to help the youth get jobs, but the growing population is creating problems for the government. Along with job creation, improving employability for people should be the priority of the government.

The Indian government should work more on its plans and policies to reduce unemployment because the government has introduced many schemes and policies to control unemployment but due to lack of knowledge and understanding people are not using the plans and policies. The government should hire people and allow them to explain the plans and policies to the citizens so that they can use it and utilize it for their benefit.

The government Is working on the necessary measures to reduce unemployment but the government cannot do it alone. The government needs the support of the people to control the unemployment rate and provide employment to unemployed people.

India currently needs to accept this issue more and the government needs to take this issue seriously because along with the increasing population and poverty, unemployment is also a big problem for the country. The government should take suggestions from economists and work on the measures by which unemployment can be controlled in India If government is going to ignore this issue than it is going to be a big problem for the government in coming future.
