Anand Mahindra, born on May 1, 1955, is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Mahindra Group. The Mahindra Group now operates in a whole lot of industries, which includes agriculture and aerospace, having all started as a metallic trading employer.

• In 1981, he returned to India and began working as Executive Assistant to the Finance Director at Mahindra Ugine Steel Company.
• In 1989, he gradually rose to the position of President and Deputy Managing Director, diversifying the company's operations into new fields such as real estate development and hotel.
• His efforts paid off when he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of M&M in 1991, Managing Director in 1997, and Vice Chairman in 2003.
• He was also a co-promoter of Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd, which was turned into a bank in 2003 and grew to become one of the largest private sector banks.
