My favorite blogging tips for other new bloggers

Playing text to speech

Blogging now for almost 5 years in both a hobbyist and intern, I have compiled a few insights with tips to pass them along to those starting their blogging journey. Blogging is not strictly about typing words into a computer screen. It is the complex work of writing that combines the efforts of creativity, dedication and strategy.

In this article, I’ll discuss all my favorite blogging techniques for wandering bloggers, including skills in writing, branding and marketing, to help you get started and achieve long-term success.

1. Approach Blogging with a pinch of honesty.

Beginning to blog is a fantastic challenge, but it´s better to take it realistically as you go. Despite the fact that on the internet success stories are more than enough, the reality is that only few blogs can make good money at the beginning, whereas the rest make only a minor income. In fact, be happy that you’ll be successful over years of consistent work and tenacity rather than expecting for overnight success.

Rather than ripening your eyes at the chance of money making, take blogging a way of a long-term venture, a creative outlet, or a tool for promotion of a different kind of business or hobby.

2. Factors That Justifies One To Thought Their Blogs

But before you jump into the blogging world, spend some time apart to sort out the reasons you are doing it. Is it your intention to utilize your mastery in a specific niche, to unite with similar-minded individuals, or could you be looking at the possibility of being a thought leader in your industry? On the other hand, the website could be a blog where you are promoting an existing business or where you would like to feature your creative writing masterpieces.

3. Writing Skills Matter

On the one hand, it is quite true that a blogger requires more than just good writing skills to be successful in their niche. Still, interesting content production will always lie at the foundation of any successful online blog. Building your writing skills is an essential ingredient for making readers marvel at your stories and for making them return to your website repeatedly.

4. To Find Yourself, Test Yourself.

Authenticity is the most important thing for a blogger and it is a process of experimentation with various aspects of writing and self-discovery. Don’t be shy about testing out various writing techniques, ideas, and styles until you hit what’s most authentic to you and your readership. Besides remember about authenticity as the main factor – don't try to behave like other bloggers or create a persona you're not in tune with.

5. Study Branding and Marketing Basics

In the overcrowded digital world these days, the ability to market your brand and products through the correct strategy is key to standing out and attracting customers to your blog. Spend some time studying the foundations of branding, such as reading about the brand identification, developing an appealing brand story, and designing a consistent visual identity for the product you are planning to offer.

Thus, after learning all these principles you will be more likely to create a blog which would be appealing to your clients and make them share it.

6. Make writing priority than to design.

Notwithstanding the fact that a nice appearance of blog makes the reader staying longer, content should be the primary focus rather than the design. Contrary to those who are moving towards perfection and willing to conduct exhausting design adjustments, you should instead be concentrating yourself on top-quality content which renders great value to your audience. Don't forget, content is what readers visit your blog for, and not for the design.

7. Read Books - Not Just Blogs .

As a blogger I am very likely to obtain ideas from books and some blogs within my profession or niche. But do not narrow your point of view only to literacy and blogging. Reading literature and carrying on with writing different text will be surely bring you valuable information and stimulus for your own work. In case of searching for the best and well-known authors in your designated genre or subject, note the writing style, the tone they use in the storytelling or narration.

8. Focus on Quality Traffic

You will get the better attention to your blog from the visitors if your quality is high and quantity is low. Do not worry about the traffic numbers on your content, what matters is inducing the readers that are really passionate and fond of your content and not just engaged readers. It takes time and effort to create a tightly tucked fan base, but the rewards such as raised interaction, distribution, and conversion compensate for all of the labor.

9. Set Writing Goals

Consistency matters when blogging is added to the list of success. Setting yourself some reasonable writing goals can help keep things going. Whether you set it a daily word count, a weekly posting schedule or a monthly content calendar, laying out writing parameters will do nothing but encouraging you through the blogging process. Set your long-tern writing goals, and don't let your attainment of goals be limited by setbacks or slow progress.

10. Enjoy the Journey

The absolute most important element of making a blog is that it should be both fulfilling and enjoyable. Though face it, there will be bumps on the road and failures that you might discover while continuing to writing, always motivate your self with the great feeling and achievement in knowing that you have someone out there that reads your thoughts and ideas. Encourage self-growing process, do not be scared to try, risk and to enjoy that way of blogging.
