Playing text to speech

This summer, the Indian Premier League will return for its 16th season. For the first time since 2019, the IPL 2023 will be played on March 31 in its original home and away format. The IPL was held in the UAE in 2020 and 2021, and in Mumbai in 2022, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Seven games will be played at home and seven away for each team this year. Over the course of 52 days, a total of 12 venues will host a total of 70 league-stage matches. Here's the beginning of IPL 2023.

Venue

The inaugural match of IPL 2023 will take place on March 31 in Ahmedabad and feature the defending champion Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. On May 21 in Bangalore, Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their final league match. Every Saturday and Sunday, there will be double headers. Later, we will announce the playoff and final schedules and locations.

Location

12 locations—Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamshala—will host the tournament.

Teams

Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants are the first group that comprise the ten teams.

Chennai Super Rulers, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans are the second group

On April 8 and May 6, respectively, the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the IPL's two most successful teams, will face off. The 1000th match in the IPL since its inception in 2008 will be their second match on May 6.

New rules

The BCCI has introduced a brand-new Impact Player rule for the tournament ahead of the season. In accordance with the new rule, in addition to the starting XI, each team is permitted to select four substitutes for a match. During the game, one of these four players can be used as a substitute. Be that as it may, the substitute player must be an Indian on the off chance that the playing XI has every one of the four abroad players.

Any of the following stages can be used to introduce the Impact Player:

  • Before the start of the innings,
  • After an over has ended
  • If a wicket falls or a batter retires in the middle of an over

Restrictions Teams are only permitted to play with four overseas players, and a non-Indian player cannot replace an Indian player if the team already has four overseas players in their playing XI. Restrictions Before the start of the innings After the end of an over At the fall of a wicket or if a batter retires In between overs Restrictions However, the teams can choose to draft in one international player later in the game and include three international players in their initial XI.

This year, the tournament's digital streaming is free for everyone. Up until now, you could only watch the games online if you had a Hotstar subscription. Be that as it may, this year, the IPL will be gushed on JioCinema in 4K goal (UltraHD) for nothing. For all of the matches, which will be streamed in 12 regional languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, and Bhojpuri, JioCinema will also allow users to switch between multiple camera angles. All games will also be broadcast live on the Star Sports Network in the interim.
