Defunc, a Swedish audio company known for its high-quality wireless earbuds, has announced that it will begin manufacturing its products in India. The move is part of the company's efforts to expand its reach in the Indian market and to offer affordable, high-quality audio products to Indian consumers. In this article, we will explore the significance of Defunc's decision to manufacture in India and what it means for the Indian audio market.

By manufacturing its products in India, Defunc aims to tap into the country's growing consumer electronics market. India has emerged as a significant market for consumer electronics in recent years, driven by the rapid adoption of smartphones and the rise in disposable incomes.

The results of the brand, known for its altered printed speaker fronts, will be accessible in India from the following year, and it is pointing deals of USD 3 million (around Rs 25 crore) in 2023, said DEFUNC President and Organizer Johan Wahlbäck.

In addition, he added, DEFUNC is considering manufacturing its products in India within the next two years if volume increases. DEFUNC is currently outsourcing the manufacturing of its Swedish-designed audio products to China.

DEFUNC has introduced a variety of products, including earbuds, earpods, truly wireless stereo (TWS), multi-room smart wi-fi home speaker solutions, and more.

Wahlbäck says that DEFUNC will try to disrupt the multi-room smart wi-fi home speaker solution market by charging 35% to 40% less for its products than its rivals here.

"India is a natural step on our extensive journey for the brand into new markets and a strategically important market for DEFUNC products. We see incredible possible here and have offered serious items for Indian shoppers," said Wahlbäck.

Wahlbäck responded, "When asked about local manufacturing:" We are thinking about making the truly wireless products locally, at least in Turkey and India."

He added that the process has already begun in Turkey, where manufacturing will begin next year.

He added that the business will keep the "Swedishness of the brand with local manufacturing."

"We have a good idea of what Indian consumers are looking for, and we have a very strong distribution at a place," Salora International CMD Gopal Jiwarajka stated. Our capacity to promote it, raise public awareness, and distribute it. We like to think of ourselves as the brand's Indian representative.

By the end of March 2023, DEFUNC products will be available through all major online channels, including Amazon and Flipkart, in addition to another 500 premium retailers in India.

In conclusion, Defunc's decision to start manufacturing its products in India is a significant step towards tapping into the country's growing consumer electronics market. The move will not only enable Defunc to offer its products at more affordable prices but will also contribute to India's growth as a manufacturing hub. As more companies invest in local manufacturing, it will create jobs, boost the economy, and help India emerge as a significant player in the global electronics manufacturing industry.
