REASONS FOR THE CELEBRATION OF TEACHER'S DAY ON SEPTEMBER 5th

“TEACHER'S DAY 2022”
Teacher's day is a particular day or a kind of special occasion to express gratitude to one's teacher or mentor who had motivated or inspired them in a particular field or area to achieve something huge in life. It is a way to thank or appreciate them for their constant efforts to reshape or build the personality of a child so that they can easily chase their aims and goals in life. Teacher's day is a pure soulful reflection of a student and mentor's bond through various celebration and events in which student often shows their love and affection towards their favourite teachers by certain kind acts and pleasing performances.
The celebration of teacher's day is marked on the 5th of September every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was the former and the 2nd President of India and was also the first Vice President of India. He was a former Indian Philosopher, politician, educator and researcher who was also a Bharat Ratna Awardee. He was born on September 5, 1888, in Andhra Pradesh, India. One day in 1962, when some of his students went to his place to wish him his birthday the custom of observing his birthday as ‘Indian Teacher’s Day' had started from that time.
Teacher's day is celebrated mainly to observe and appreciate his works and good deeds towards humanity by making people aware of the importance of education and being educated. He initiated an education drive which inspired many children to face all kinds of difficulties and barriers and to come out of their homes and study. This dedication of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishna was beyond perfection and of par excellence. This made him a great researcher and scholar who have such amazing, extraordinary skills and enhancement skills which differentiated them from many other scholars. The first Teacher's day in India was observed on September 5, 1962, which was his 77th birth anniversary.
It was believed that he was an academic scholar who was an advocate of edification. That's why he was the greatest teacher of all time.
“THE THEME FOR 2022 TEACHER'S DAY” FOR INDIA :
This year’s theme for Teachers’ Day 2022 is – 'शिक्षकः बढ़ते संकट के बीच भविष्य की नई कल्पना' (Teachers: leading in crisis, reimagining the future).
“WHY TEACHER'S DAY IS CELEBRATED EVERY YEAR ON 5 SEPTEMBER”?
As we all know that the future of our country is laid on the shoulders of the upcoming young population and it is also a responsibility to fulfil the dream of making our country developed, civilized and educated is essential for them at any cost. It is also important for the mentors to mould children in such a way that they can understand the right meaning of each and everything which will assist them to shape their bright future accordingly. So it is beneficial for the students to have a role model like Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who will always make the children remember to set tough goals for themselves in life.
Having a tough competitor helps students to push their limits so that they can perform well beyond their expectations sometimes and which will lead to better performances as well as achieving high standards of living and goals in life.
As we know teachers have full right to be honoured and respected by everyone, it is mentioned that on the day of teacher's day, the President of India honoured the meritorious teachers with the ‘National Teacher’s Award' to grace the presence of teachers and mentors in everyone's life. These prizes were publicly conferred to teachers as a way of expressing gratitude to them and are mainly distributed among primary, middle and secondary school teachers.
Also according to our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, teachers are an essential part of life to enlighten our souls with knowledge as we are the building blocks of society. According to him, 'teaching is not only a profession, but it is also a way of life and teachers were called ‘Vishwa gurus’ who provide students with eternal and supreme knowledge regarding all sorts of issues concerning the development and growth of our nation.
“SIGNIFICANCE OF TEACHER'S DAY ” :
As we all know that teacher's day is celebrated on September 5th in remembrance of our former Indian President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a great educational scholar and an Indian politician.
Teacher's day is one such event when students and teachers both eagerly wait to meet and greet each other for their consistent assistance and support in the best possible way. On this day, students find innumerable ways to thank and showcase their thought of gratitude towards their mentor and likewise teachers also wait for this day to feel special and to become honoured for what they deserve. As we all know that teachers play a significant role in spreading knowledge and building a civilized society. It also plays a crucial role in the development of a nation and for that, they must be honoured, valued and respected.
