Kashmir is again under security threats and for this reason, Internet Services in some part of Kashmir has been cut down. Area of the old city which is commonly known as Downtown Srinagar complete shutdown of the internet.

The ongoing controversy over the remarks made by the two-party members of the BJP party on the Prophet Muhammad and Muslim rituals generated the heat in India and other parts of the world and has more impact on Islamic countries. The matter reached its extremist level after Al-Queda, an Islamic Terrorist Organization issued a threat notice to India and its party members.

Kashmir valley has a historical record for terrorist activities and in order to have precautions, authorities shut down the internet service in some parts of the Srinagar. Heavy security was deployed in highly sensitive places to maintain the law and order.

A popular known area called the old city and commonly as Downtown Srinagar witnessed a complete shutdown with public transport off the roads.
