The Coast of Death
Playing text to speech
Spain’s Costa da Morte is considered to be the ‘coast of death’ in common language because of its ‘shipwrecked past’ and ‘disappearing myths’. However, this belief is what makes it a peaceful less-traffic zone.
From where does this phrase emerge? - Earlier during the times when the world was considered to be flat, its name was Finisterre, literally meaning the ‘end of the world’. It was believed to be a dark and doomed space by a lot of locals. Since this place is untouched by tourism in current days, it is an attractive and phenomenal area to be visited for peace.
Due to its mystery, it is considered to be synonymous with the Bermuda Triangle. Since the 14th century, there have been records of the sinking of more than 600 ships in the sea. Also, many of them disappeared without any trace and claimed the lives of thousands. People are fearful of passing through this coast till date.
But in today’s world, despite the horrifying past of the coast, it is a really awesome place to visit if you’re a fan of adventures. The cliffs surrounding the sea and the lighthouses standing tall, add to the scenic beauty of the place.
What makes it serene is the presence of wild beauty around the hotels of the coast. No matter its name is Death Coast due to a terrible mystery, but nature has surely blessed the place with magnificent flora & fauna.
The rich landscape changes every day giving a treat to the eyes. It’s perfect to look at the horizon where the river meets the sea from the low-lying rock bed of the coast. The stream flowing through thick, thorny bushes couldn’t be gotten enough of once you start admiring the place.
Closing thoughts: it has correctly been said that what remains unexplored hides the beautiful essence. It is true in the case of Costa da Morte being untouched by the pollution and population. If you’re a curious fan of living in the present, check out the place once & you won’t stop admiring it.
