Playing text to speech
Are you a busy parent who lost the track of your child’s GPS location and routine activities?
Or your work does not give you enough time to keep eyes on your kids?
Well, working hard to give your children a bright future is good, but in the race of being efficient don’t overlook your kids.
Growing kids crave attention. If parents fail to give proper time to their kids, they develop mental distress. As a result, such kids divert their mind by seeking joy in other things.
Cell phone addiction is common among teenagers. Studies show that one out of two teenagers has mobile phone obsession. Instead of dealing it the right way, parents restrict their kids from using mobile devices.
Well, this isn’t right.
Though you limit screen time usage, are you sure that your child doesn’t use the mobile phone or tablet in your absence?
Here the secret story comes. Kids do stop doing prohibited things in front of parents, but when they find alone time, they do the exact opposite.
Let’s find out what your child does on his/her phone when you are not around.
Leaving Kids Alone or Keep Track Kids – Is It Safe?
No, it isn’t safe to leave children by themselves - alone. And it is more terrific to leave them with unsupervised internet session.
Do you know why?
The online world is a loophole, an escape from real life. You can’t guarantee what content will engage your child’s attention.
In the case of tweens, they can accidentally access websites containing inappropriate or pornographic content. No one wants that. To avoid exposure of underage to adult content, parents must use kid’s monitoring apps to restrict the screen use of kids.
Now, let’s talk about a serious topic.
What teens do online when parents are not around?
Most of you have an idea of how teens exploit being alone.
To clear the clouds, take a look at these digital activities; teens do when parents are not with them.
1- Teens Do Sexting in Your Absence:
Sexting is sending or receiving messages that contain sexual content. Sexting may hold dirty texts, images, videos, and audio notes. The main reason of increasing rate of sexting is that kids and teens have unlimited access to smartphones and the internet. Teenagers send arousing pictures of themselves to their girlfriend/boyfriend or strangers. Believe it or not, the ratio of sexting among teens is 15%. Still, it is alarming for parents as not all teens possess smartphones and the ones who do misuse the technology.
2- Teens Search for X-Rated Content When Alone:
As the internet world holds everything. There is a possible chance that your teen might access adult or pornographic sites. Pornography develops addiction in teenagers and exploits their well being by initiating sexual arousal at a very young age. Teens also visit dating sites in the absence of their parents. Thus, parents must not leave their kids alone with an unlimited smartphone and internet access.
3- Teens Contact Strangers Through Social Media:
Social media platforms are extensive channels to connect people from different regions. The use of social media is safe as long as kids contact with people they already know. But, curiosity never ends. Teens think it is fun to make stranger people friends. Well, it isn’t fun at all. Nobody knows if that stranger is a sexual predator, pedophile or a psychopath. There are websites available that enable kids to chat with strangers, which is a red flag for parents.
4- Teens Exploit Their Privacy:
Parents must talk to their kids regarding the importance of privacy. Teens use social media coldly without thinking about privacy concerns. Such unresponsive behaviour let the public see their profile pictures, check-ins, contact information, and essential details.
5- Teens Participate in Explicit Activities When Parents Aren’t Around:
Social media and the online world is all about trends. One day there is a belfie trend another day it is something else. Though explicit trends and activities are a menace, kids don’t understand it. Speaking of terrifying trends, momo and blue whale challenges and bottle challenge on tiktok have already caused much destruction.
