Virus Eating Creatures Finally Found In Spain

Playing text to speech

The entire world is troubled by the Coronavirus. There are many such dangerous viruses in the world. Till now people were afraid of how the virus would end because no organism eats it.

But scientists have found such a microorganism in the sea that eats many types of viruses. It is the first such organism in the world which eats virus purely. Scientists have confirmed this after examining many times.

These micro-organisms have been found in the Gulf of Maine and the Mediterranean Sea near Catalonia, Spain. This is being called Scientist Protists. When protists were studied, two types of groups also emerged in it. These are called Choanozans and Picozoans. Because there is a slight difference in their DNA.

Julia Brown, a researcher at the Biglow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences and a protist who lives in the town of Man, says the protists do not match the DNA of any animal in the world. The viruses that cause humans, animals, birds, and plants are disturbed, they die, now they have found a living organism.

Julia Brown said that at first, we thought that the virus has been infected by the protists. But when we examined it closely, it was found out that this microbe has broken the virus. He has taken it in his stomach. Has eaten the virus. After that, we prepared the report, which is published in a magazine called Frontiers in Microbiology.

Vienna University microbial ecologist Christian Grebler said that he could not agree on how the virus went into the stomach of a microbe. Because of the virus attacks, it is difficult to eat it. There is a need to study more on this. If this microbe really eats the virus then we will get a chance to be happy.

Scientists are happy that they have come to know of a new chapter in the food chain. Protists have DNA in their nucleus, which is called Eukaryotes. Christian Grebler has agreed that certain parts of the virus have been found in Eukaryotes. It raises some hope that these protists will eat the virus.

Julia Brown studied 1700 protists from the Gulf of Man. These 1700 protists consisted of 10 different groups of protists. Then their DNA was tested. It was found out that 51 percent of the protists extracted from the Gulf of Man, and 35 percent of the microorganisms released from the Mediterranean, eat the virus as bacteriophages.

Bacteriophage virus means the virus that infects the bacteria. However, when scientists conducted a thorough investigation of Choanozans and Picozoans, it was found that 100% of their samples contained DNA sequences of the virus. These facts substantiate the fact that the protists definitely eat the virus in some way or the other.

Christian Grebler said that the matter of eating the bacteria of Choanozans was already confirmed. However, the food and drink of Picozoans remained a mystery. From the study of Julia and her team, we have got an edge in this food chain. It is important to study it now.

Christian Grebler said that it may be that these micro-organisms need help in curing diseases caused by viruses in the future. Because these microorganisms are present on the whole earth.

Their population is never-ending. They account for 50 percent of the entire biomass of the earth. Therefore, if we do a deep study, then from these micro-organisms, we can get medicines that protect us from many diseases.
