Yoshihide Suga The New PM Of Japan

Playing text to speech

Since Prime Minister of Japan (PM of Japan) Shinzo Abe resigned last month due to poor health, it was believed that Yoshihide Suga, identified as his right hand, could be the new PM for the last nearly 8 years.

The ruling party of Japan elected Suga as the new leader after Abe with 377 votes out of 534. On Wednesday, 71-year-old Suga is set to take over as Prime Minister (PMO), so the world is interested in knowing what is worth knowing about this new PM of Japan.

Suga is not from the aristocratic class of Japan, which dominated the politics there for a long time, rather he belongs to a peasant family. Suga, who comes from a family related to cultivating strawberries, made her move in politics after graduation from Hosei University. He joined the Koizumi government in 2005 after joining the Liberal Democratic Party and assuming some administrative responsibilities.

From the time of the Koizumi government, Suga's relations with Shinzo Abe improved. When Abe became Prime Minister again in 2012, he was given the important position as Chief Cabinet Secretary, while managing to manage the difficult bureaucracy of Japan. Overall, the proximity grew and Suga was considered not only the right hand but also the successor of Abe.

Since Suga does not come from a family with a political heritage, it is indeed a big achievement for him to reach the post of Prime Minister. Suga himself also says that he started his political journey from scratch and devoted his entire life to the people of Japan and Japan. It will be seen from here what kind of policies Suga promotes because it is believed that he is going to pursue Abe's policies.

Suga himself has said that he will continue Abe's economic vision, which will focus on issues related to government spending and reforms to handle the faltering economy in the era of Covid 19 with very easy policies. In addition, Suga is also interested in amending the post-war pacifist constitution to make the Self-Defense Force valid, which was also Abe's important agenda.

However, it is being said that Suga will first focus on tackling the coronavirus epidemic and his goal is to push for an effective vaccine within the next six months. After this, Suga can somehow take policy steps on the issues of increasing the aging population and decreasing birth rate in Japan. However, as Suga has little experience in strategic relationships, he may face challenges with relations with North Korea, China, and the US.

Another interesting fact about Suga, who holds 100 daily punishments in the morning and night and is fond of pancakes, is why he was called 'Uncle Rewa'! In Asl, Suga had a responsibility to know what to name the new royal era in 2019 after Emperor Akihito's removal, then for the new emperor Naruhito, the royal era was christened 'Rewa' which means 'beautiful harmony'. After making this announcement, Suga started being called 'Uncle Rewa'.
