Xiaomi touches a large number of niche markets with products of all kinds. Beyond telephony, the star product for which many put a face to the Asian giant, the brand is betting very hard to diversify its plans. And in them, smart TVs have great prominence.

We have already seen how affordable models, 4K televisions, and even a revolutionary transparent model have passed through these pages. Products that may soon be accompanied by Xiaomi's first 8K TV, a model that may have leaked online.

Xiaomi real 8K panel

The Japanese firm bets hard, we have already seen it with the Xiaomi Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition, and it joins other brands such as Samsung, LG, Hisense, TCL, Sony have 8K televisions.

For now, there is no more data on this possible Xiaomi 8K TV. The rest of the benefits and price or the markets' availability are still unknown so that we will be pending before any news.

"8K Ready" on a TV is not the same as real 8K: what are the differences, and why is this label now just marketing.

8K TVs still have a lot to prove to convince users that they are worth it. Its contribution to 75 inches or more devices is impressive because they allow us to enjoy the contents at a reduced viewing distance without the overall image quality of the television suffering the least. However, it is not yet clear that below 75 inches, its impact on our experience contribute something to what a good TV with a native 4K UHD panel already offers us.

Samsung and LG, are two best brands that already have 8K televisions in stores, have been debating for several months what characteristics one of these devices should have beyond its resolution. In any case, that real 8K that South Korean brands tell us about has nothing to do with the "8K Ready" label that other manufacturers use to defend that their televisions are compatible with 8K resolution content.

This strategy seems to indicate that we are facing a new chapter in the label war, groups under the heading "label" the logos and slogans used by brands to attract the attention of their potential customers. The problem is that this ruse causes users to feel often intimidated because it is not always easy to understand what they are selling us. And understanding it is the only way to clearly identify whether that character will have a significant impact on our experience. There is no doubt what has been happening with the "8K Ready" label for several months.
