Work from home: rules to follow :
Work does not always consist of carrying out any activity on one's employer or client's premises. For several years now, working from home has developed in many countries, mainly thanks to the appearance of new technologies.
The variety of homework :
Some activities are conducive to working from home. In this case, for example, for professions that are the subject of intellectual services. We can cite certain types of coaching or distance private lessons or training carried out through virtual contact. It is also believable to include the job of the web editor in this typology, which consists of writing content for websites, secretarial activities, or even creating websites. Alongside intellectual services are traded subject to manual services: these concerns, for example, packaging activities or art and craft creations.
The employer's obligations concerning his employee working at home:
The work at home can apply to both the self-employed with auto-entrepreneur status as employees of a company, whether full time or part-time. In the latter case, homework constitutes a method of adapting the employee's working conditions. We will then speak of teleworking. The employee carries out his missions from his home instead of carrying them out from his employer's premises. The teleworker must respect the legislation relating to the duration of working time. The employer must ensure that the workload requested does not exceed the legal working time.
On the other hand, the teleworker has several rights, and the employer is subject to any obligations. For example, he must inform the works council or, failing that, the staff representatives of implementing the company's teleworking system. He must also notify the teleworker in writing of all the information relating to the assignment's execution conditions.
Besides, the employer must provide training in the equipment necessary for teleworking (generally the Internet and IT tools), and he must take measures to avoid the isolation of his employee. Besides, the employer is supposed to bear the costs of maintaining the equipment necessary for teleworking. Finally, the teleworker always has the possibility of requesting to work at the employer's premises. The terms of acceptance will then vary depending on whether the teleworking decided upon hiring or subsequently upon hiring.
