Everything To Know About PM Modi's Digital Health Mission

Playing text to speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the seventh consecutive time from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort on the occasion of 74th Independence Day and mentioned many things, one of which is the 'National Digital Health Mission'. Prime Minister Modi announced the campaign, calling 'self-reliance' the biggest lesson from the coronavirus epidemic.

While addressing the countrymen on the occasion of this day, PM Modi said that this will bring a new revolution in the health sector of the country and the problems of people will be reduced through technology. He said that the health sector has taught India's biggest learning in self-reliance in the period of coronavirus.

The Prime Minister said that under this scheme, every Indian will have a unique identity number. All information related to your health will be included in this number. He told that through this scheme every type of security will be provided to every countryman.

The Prime Minister said that under this mission, institutions like personal medical records and investigation centers will be brought on the same digital platform. He said that this should be done so that medical facilities can be provided to the people living in remote areas.

Anyone can take advantage of this facility. Right now, it will depend on the citizens whether they will take advantage of it or not. All information related to your treatment will be available in this health card only.

A special card will be issued under the National Digital Health Mission. It will be like an Aadhaar card. It is noteworthy that through this card, the patient's personal medical record can be traced.

The Prime Minister said that the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) will be on the lines of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (Jan Aarogya). So that the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of health services in the country can be improved.

In this ID you will be given the option of whether to link it to Aadhaar or not, it will be completely based on your wish. Any account of your health in this card will act as a digital locker.

Through this, you will be provided with a unique ID and when you go to any doctor for treatment, you will not have to take all the prescriptions and test reports together, but this ID will do your work. If you are not able to go to the hospital, then the doctor can sit anywhere and see all your medical reports.

Under this scheme, the hospital, clinic, the doctor will be connected to a central server. With this, the medical data of the person will also be present on the same server.

However, it will depend on the hospital and the citizens to join the government's scheme. The National Digital Health Mission mainly focuses on four things. Health ID, personal health records, registration of Digi doctors, and health facilities across the country.

This is an amazing scheme with respect to the healthcare sector of India which is facing medical turmoil like the corona pandemic. If every citizen gets linked with it then India can become a developed nation in the healthcare sector.

We are set to see something more in the coming days as PM Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to built up the "New India" and every Indian citizen should be responsible and active toward's it duties.
