Coronavirus Pandemic Has Become Real Challenge

Playing text to speech

The ever-increasing number of corona infections has become a major challenge for the country. With more than seven million cases, India has become the third country in the world after the US and Brazil in Corona victims.

The death toll from Corona has also crossed the 20 thousand line. Some new centers of epidemics have suddenly emerged here. In Bangalore, the number of new infections has been increasing daily in the last four-five days.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the government has announced a 'triple lockdown' for a week. In Guwahati, the state government has announced to reach the community level of the disease.

The ever-increasing number of corona infections has become a major challenge for the country. With more than seven million cases, India has become the third country in the world after the US and Brazil in Corona victims.

This information should not be taken to mean that the situation is getting worse on every front. After deteriorating conditions in the national capital, Delhi is now moving towards improvement.

On June 23, 3947 new cases were reported in Delhi in 24 hours, which was the largest number to date. After that, on 24, 25 and 26 June, more than three thousand cases came every day. But from June 27, the number of new cases started coming down and after that, the daily average for the whole week was 2494.

This number was further reduced to 2244 on Sunday. There has also been a success in stabilizing the situation in Mumbai. If the number of new cases is not decreasing there then it is not increasing either. The biggest thing is that the death rate from the corona is still very low in India.

The death and infection ratio in the world is 4.7 percent while in India it is recorded at 2.8 percent. Meanwhile, health workers across the country are firmly on the front.

It is a wonder in itself to become the world's largest corona hospital and start working in Chhatarpur, Delhi within just ten days.

But there is also a front on which our weakness is being outlined separately in the ongoing anti-Corona fight at the world level. This is a lack of information.

Experts feel that the ease with which information related to Corona should have been provided in India is not being done yet. As the situation became more serious, the information in the bulletin issued by the Health Department started to diminish. There is a number of patients in it but there is not enough details related to age, area, and patient status, etc.

The decrease in the number of bulletins and the closure of regular press conferences is also considered as an indication that the government's interest in providing information has diminished.

Probably, for this reason, the WHO had to say that a national guideline should be issued in India regarding the Corona data. The role of this information can be huge in the fight against Corona, so the government should ensure an uninterrupted flow of information.
