India Should Be Ready To See COVID-19 Cases High Level In November

Playing text to speech

The Covid-19 epidemic in India may reach its peak in mid-November, during which there may be a shortage of 'ICU beds and ventilators'. It has been claimed in a study. According to the study, the Covid-19 epidemic due to lockdown will reach its peak eight weeks late.

The study conducted by the researchers of the Operations Research Group, constituted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said the lockdown may have reached the peak of the epidemic, possibly from 34 to 76 days. At the same time, it reduced cases of infections from 69 to 97 percent, which helped the health system to raise resources and strengthen infrastructure.

The epidemic may reach its peak by the first week of November in the event of increased public health measures after the lockdown and its 60 percent effectiveness. After this, isolation beds will be reduced for 5.4 months, ICU beds for 4.6 months, and ventilators for 3.9 months. It has been estimated in the study. However, the situation is estimated to be very serious without lockdown and public health measures.

Researchers said that due to continuous steps taken by the government to increase the infrastructure and the rate of infection is different in different areas, the effects of the epidemic can be reduced. If the coverage of public health measures is increased to 80 per cent, the impact of the epidemic can be reduced.

According to a model-based analysis of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, the number of cases at the peak will be reduced by up to 70 percent with additional capacity to be tested, treated, and isolated during the lockdown period, and infections (increasing) cases will decrease by about 27 percent.

It has been shown in the analysis that in case of deaths due to Covid-19, about 60 percent of the deaths have been avoided and one-third of the deaths are attributed to an increase in health care measures. Researchers said that the management of Covid-19 would help inappropriate review of policies and strengthen the health system.

It added, "The lockdown will delay the peak of the epidemic and will provide the health system with the time needed to investigate, isolate cases, treat and locate people exposed to infected individuals." These steps will play an important role in reducing the impact of the pandemic in India until the Covid-19 vaccine is developed.

According to Health Ministry data, cases of coronavirus infection in the country increased to 3,20,000 on Sunday, while 9,195 people have died so far. More than 10,000 new cases were reported for the third consecutive day in India and our country has become the fourth most affected country in the world.

India should be ready for a hard battle to be fought on various fronts. It is not a time to get indulged into personal ego battles and worthless cold wars as seen between the Delhi government and the Central government. So what do they want ? people dying due to medical apathy in dirty government hospitals where beds are inadequate and we cannot do them just to help them out.

Let's rise above other baseless things for the time being and at this moment strive hard to fight against this corona pandemic and be optimistic that humanity shall be a win over this deadly epidemic of COVID-19 in the end.
