Nalanda University is considered to be the oldest university in the world.
It was established in the fifth century CE in the ancient Indian kingdom of Magadha, which is now the Indian state of Bihar.
Nalanda University was a residential university that drew students from all around Asia, including China, Korea, Tibet, and Sri Lanka.
Unfortunately, it was destroyed in the 12th century by a Muslim army led by Muhammad Bakhtiyar Khalji.
In 2010, the Government of India established a new university called Nalanda University on the site of the ancient university.
