Lines and shapes are drawn on a flat surface that looks less realistic, complex & expensive. Cartoons, comics & video games are mostly used in 2D.

3D objects are modeled in a computer and then rendered to create an image that looks more realistic, complex, and expensive.

2D and 3D graphics are two different computer graphics that are utilized to create images and animations.
