Boycott China Mission Is The Essence Of Achieving Self-Reliant India

Playing text to speech

China has not only proved itself to be a villain among Indians by striking India's trust, but has also smeared its global image which was already beset with questions due to the Corona crisis.

After the bloody clash between China and Indian troops in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh, the deep distrust that has arisen in the relationship between the two countries is not going to go away easily.

China has forced India to rethink its customs policy. The outrage of the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers can be clearly seen in the Indian public. People are expressing their anger in different ways.

While bowing to the valor of its soldiers, demands are being raised to boycott Chinese goods and teach China a lesson on the military front. As a citizen of a nation, such intense expressions are natural and there is evidence of our nationality coming alive. Although there is less possibility of the war-like situation between the two countries even after the current argument, this tension will definitely be seen on the economic front and will also have its effect in the long run.

The call for a boycott of China-made goods in the country needs to be widely understood and imbibed. This may sound bitter, but the indifference of our governments and the mentality of our own in which we begin to deny our sense of self is behind the way we made Chinese goods a part of our lives. Today we should thank those advocates of Swadeshi who always underlined the hollowness of the Hindi-Chinese brother-brother slogan.

Today, it is due to him that the discussion of an economic revival against China in the country is taking the form of movement. The tide of public awareness against China should not be confined to social media or the immediate indignity of the boycott of Chinese goods, but it will have to bring society into practice. Keep in mind that in the year 2019, India imported goods worth about $ 75 billion from China, while during this time India exported only $ 18 billion to China.

The use of China-made goods has increased so much in our lives that we depend on it for everything from needles to mobiles, puja materials to power plants. With this, we are facing a trade deficit of $ 57 billion with China. China holds 65 percent of India's smartphone market.

Today, the pace at which the country is growing in the development of renewable energy resources has increased significantly in the installation of solar power plants, but we are dependent on China for 75 percent solar panels. Similarly, 44 percent of the plastic in the country comes from China. According to statistics, we spent $ 20.63 billion for electric appliances in 2018-2019. India also relies heavily on China for chemical products.

China is also attacking India culturally. Many of its apps such as TikTok and Hello are serving anti-national content. The fact that various organizations have brought about this needs to be looked into. The trick of China can be gauged from the fact that now the term PRC, ie People's Republic of China, is being used to create confusion in place of written things in China.

Dreaming of economic imperialism, China is investing in startups instead of FDI in India. China has invested in 16 big startups in India. It is also an attempt to capture the technology and retail market in away. In such circumstances, we have to do a lot to reduce our dependence on China and increase the use of indigenous goods. On the one hand, while the concept of self-reliant India will be fulfilled, we will be able to pressurize the governments by raising discourse against China.

It is often seen that governments avoid taking tough decisions. An example of this can be seen in the decision to separate the Chinese company from the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System project after the martyrdom of Indian troops in Galvan. The use of Chinese technology used in the field of telecommunications has also been banned.

The international market has its limits, but the goods coming from any country pass through certain standards including security, health, and employment. Concerns have often been expressed about the safety of products manufactured in China, especially those made of plastic. In such a situation, the government can reduce imports from China based on these standards.

This resolution of society and government should be the same as that expressed by the people of Japan and the government after the US dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in 1945. Even today, America is yearning to increase business from Japan.

We can give a befitting reply to China's imperialist plans by increasing our strength on the military front as well as by promoting the production of indigenous goods. For this, we have to make the goods manufactured in the country with global standards of quality. This will increase the acceptance of indigenous goods among the public. The public should also be ready to give protection to these items.
