The Path Of E-Learning Is Not Easy

Playing text to speech

Education, the third-largest sector after service and production, has been a big hit during this epidemic. The lockdown has hit the core of education. The teaching work is at a standstill in view of the present challenges.

The closure of school-college has distorted the traditional form of education. In fact, it seems very difficult to restore traditional and real forms of education in this unpredictable time.

In such a situation, the option of online education is considered to be favorable between challenges and cohesion. However, how successful it is on practical level remains to be tested. If we talk about its profit side, then it has tried to give a possible speed to the sluggish wheel of education.

Online forums such as Zoom, Google Classroom, or Google Hangout Service, etc. are being used in a very limited, but effective manner and are reaching out to selected people. It is worth noting that how much access does it have to marginalized children.

At the same time, education has three major objectives in the Indian thinking tradition - person and character building, social welfare, and progressive development of knowledge. The above things are not equal in the online method.

There are many obstacles to the spread of online education in a large country like India. There are thousands of schools in the country that have neither advanced technology nor resources. In such a way, how to connect this link of change to students sitting in remote villages.

According to an estimate, there is only 20 percent of such institutions in the country, which are able to reach the facilities of reading and learning online. On the one hand, where the unavailability of technology, advanced equipment, skilled instructor and proper environment, etc. are in the way of it, on the other hand, poor connectivity of the internet, students disappearing during the session, difficulty in establishing contact, informal or casual presence, etc. Big challenges are also posing as walls.

Actually, the expansion of virtual education in India has never been noticed before. Timely cognizance was not taken on any integrated plan related to this. This is the reason that the effects of implementing it are coming to light. Overall the situation is not satisfactory and the miseries of bringing education back on track are not taking the name of diminishing.

Even in the countries of America and Europe, where most of the field of life has been operated through online mediums since a decade ago, even in spite of the high fees of higher education, students wish to do classroom studies. This is when courses from institutes like Harvard, MIT and Stanford are available in online format.

Nevertheless, if online education is being presented as a panacea in India, it is due to either half-hearted understanding of the people or the mentality that education is considered profitable.

If it is to be implemented in India, then it will need a related developed system to ensure its access to students with ease. Also, we have to keep ourselves updated with the latest technology and latest systems so that the benefit of this can reach the maximum students.

The long platform designed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development can help in this direction. It would be beneficial to adopt them as a helpful tool for classroom reading.

If online education is aired with full preparation, then the wheel of education can be run to a large extent. Efforts must be made continuously because necessity itself can lead to new choices and new avenues can be found by innovation.
