HOW DO WE CELEBRATE FESTIVAL OF COLOURS- HOLI

Holi is about celebrating happiness with pals and family. People forget about their troubles and indulge in this competition to rejoice brotherhood. In different words, we neglect our enmities and get into the pageant spirit. Holi is referred to as the festival of colors because people play with colors and follow them to every other’s faces to get colored within the essence of the festival. 

The Hindu faith believes there has been a devil king named Hiranyakashyap lengthy ago. He had a son named Prahlad and a sister referred to as Holika. It is believed that the devil king had blessings of Lord Brahma. This blessing meant no man, animal or weapon ought to kill him. This blessing became a curse for him as he became very conceited. He ordered his country to worship him in place of God, now not sparing his personal son. 

Following this, all the people started worshipping him besides his son, Prahlad. Prahlad refused to worship his father rather than God as he was a real believer of Lord Vishnu. Upon seeing his disobedience, the devil king deliberate with his sister to kill Prahlad. He made her sit within the fire along with his son on the lap, where Holika was burned and Prahlad got out of it very securely. This indicated he become blanketed with the aid of his Lord Vishnu due to his devotion. Thus, humans commenced celebrating Holi as the victory of good over evil. 

People celebrate Holi with the utmost fervor and exuberance, particularly in North India. One day before Holi, people have a ritual called ‘Holika Dahan’. In this ritual, humans pile thousands of wood in open areas to burn. It symbolizes the burning of evil powers revising the tale of Holika and King Hiranyakashyap. Furthermore, they collect around the Holika to search goodness and provide their devotion towards God.

The subsequent day is the most colorful day in India. People wake up in the morning and offer pooja to God. Then, they dress up in white clothes and play with colorings. They splash water on one another. Children run around splashing water colorings using water guns. Similarly, even the adults turn out to be kids on this day. They rub shade on each other’s faces and immerse themselves in water. 

In the evening, they shower and dress up properly to visit their friends and family. They dance in the course of the day and drink a special drink known as the ‘bhaang’. People of every age enjoy Holi’s unique delicacy ‘gujiya’ ardently. 

In brief note Holi spreads love and brotherhood. It brings harmony and happiness for all of us. Holi symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. This colorful festival unites people and gets rid of all sorts of negativity from lifestyles. Happy Holi To All !
