# Photo puzzles from 2×2 to 4×4, and one made from your own picture

Children love puzzles. They love pictures even more. KidsZone puts the two together in a way that works for toddlers and older children alike.

## Pick a picture, then fix it

The [Photo Puzzle](https://www.mindstick.com/kidszone/play/photo-puzzle?level=2&from=little-learners) starts by letting your child choose a picture. As you can see in the screenshot, the choices are bright animal photos: a bear, a kitten, a golden dog, a dolphin, a duck, an eagle, a fox, a frog, a giraffe, a horse, a kangaroo, a koala and more. Letting a child choose the picture is a small thing, but it gives them ownership. It's their puzzle now.

The picture is then cut into pieces and mixed up. To fix it, your child taps two pieces to swap them, or drags one piece onto another. No fiddly rotating, no tiny edges to line up. Just swap until it looks right.

## Three sizes

There are three levels:

- **2 × 2**, four pieces, perfect for a three-year-old learning that pictures can be put back together
- **3 × 3**, nine pieces, a real challenge for four- and five-year-olds
- **4 × 4**, sixteen pieces, which will keep older children (and some parents) thinking

Moving up a level is a lovely milestone. Make a small fuss when your child manages their first 3 × 3. That pride is fuel.

## My Photo: the puzzle that means something

Then there's [My Photo](https://www.mindstick.com/kidszone/play/my-photo-puzzle?level=2&from=little-learners), which is a little bit magic for young children. You pick a photo from your own phone, and KidsZone turns it into a puzzle.

Grandma's face. The family dog. Your child's own birthday cake. Last Diwali's rangoli. Suddenly the puzzle is personal, and you'll find your child happily solving the same one five times in a row just to see the picture come back together.

It's also a lovely way to keep grandparents in a child's world when they live in another city. A puzzle of Nani's face is a conversation starter: "When are we going to see her?"

## Why puzzles matter

Puzzles quietly build skills children need later: noticing small details, understanding how parts make a whole, and sticking with something until it's done. That last one, patience, is hard to teach directly. A puzzle teaches it without a lecture.

If small fingers find dragging tricky, open the settings and switch on **Tap instead of drag**. And as with all of KidsZone, progress is saved only on your own device.

## A rainy-day idea

On a day stuck indoors, make it a family challenge. Take a fresh photo of everyone together, turn it into a 3 × 3 puzzle with My Photo, and take turns solving it. Time each person if you like. Children love beating a parent, and you'll end up with a new family photo and an afternoon of laughing at yourselves.
