# Different steps that help to heal your soul and mind

Everybody has been in a rut before. [Getting stuck](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/115880/how-do-you-play-stickman-hook-effectively-and-avoid-getting-stuck-on-harder-levels) is a natural part of life, whether we're demotivated, overworked, stressed out, or tired of the same old routine every day.

Sometimes, we just fall off the bandwagon and start to be unhappy with how things are going.

It's possible that you've run into a roadblock with a project or that you haven't been eating well, causing you to feel sluggish all the time. Or perhaps you've fallen prey to the temptation to compare yourself to others and are wondering why your own life isn't as interesting as that of others.

What's significant is having the apparatuses you want to get yourself unadhered as the need should arise.

I strongly advocate daily self-care for the mind, body, and spirit. Focusing on doing things that will improve those three areas of your life is my method for breaking out of a slump.

You will feel reenergized, rejuvenated, and more content with your life if you give your mind, body, and soul the attention they deserve.

But how could you do this, I am going to drill down the ways by which you can heal your soul and mind

**Begin your morning with lemon water**

Drinking a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon in the morning will give you a good dose of [hydration.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrate) Lemon water improves digestion, which means you'll feel less bloated [throughout the day](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/35882/can-i-drink-warm-water-throughout-the-day-to-lose-weight) and hastens the renewal of dull skin.

**Adopt Self care system**

If you want to start or get back into a [morning routine](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/3768/how-to-create-a-positive-morning-routine), use the power hour method to incorporate some good old-fashioned [self-care](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/82599/pandemic-and-self-care). There is a whole post on this topic here, but basically, you should spend 20 minutes [doing something](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/33390/nsdateformatter-am-i-doing-something-wrong-or-is-this-a-bug) good for your mind, body, and soul. It is my [primary motivation](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/43458/what-was-the-primary-motivation-behind-the-non-aligned-movement-during-the-cold-war) for getting out of bed in the morning.

**Treat your skin properly**

Before taking a shower, I enjoy dry brushing my skin because it stimulates blood flow, unclogs pores, and helps remove dead skin. Start at your feet and work your way up toward your heart in long, sweeping movements.

A good body scrub is a great way to get your skin back to being supple. I like SheaMoisture's Illuminating Coconut and Hibiscus Scrub.

Rosehip oil is an amazing thing to use on your face before bed if your skin is looking a little dull because it helps even out skin tone and makes your complexion glow. Try Teddie Organics' organic rosehip oil

**Take some fresh air**

Take some time to notice your surroundings, feel the air on your skin, and take some long, deep, and reflective breaths when you go outside without your phone during your lunch break or whenever you have ten minutes to spare (*cough* make the time).

**Cut your social life**

By removing apps you don't use, emails you don't need, and bookmarks you won't read, you give yourself fewer opportunities for distraction.

**Detox your [digestive system](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/103926/how-does-the-digestive-system-work) with fresh [fruits and vegetables](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/110536/what-are-the-benefits-of-eating-fruits-and-vegetables)**

Perhaps you've been feeling somewhat lazy from your [food decisions](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/208958/what-to-eat-for-late-night-food) recently. If that's the case, try including more healthy options like fruit smoothies with spinach, a hearty salad for lunch, and a big pile of vegetables for dinner. When trying to get healthier, we sometimes try to cut things out right away, but I think adding things in is much better.

**Try positive affirmations**

Even if it seems silly, say something encouraging to yourself (I know it does). Every morning, I like to write mine down in my planner. Make positive statements about the things you struggle with. Here are a few concepts

- I'm secure
- I have everything I need
- I'm different and interesting

**Focus on one thing only**

In the event that you've been feeling overpowered by your plan for the day, quit fooling around with your needs and sort out what you can relinquish until further notice. Even if you are afraid of forgetting something, concentrate on one thing at a time.

If you've been struggling to strike a balance between your daily responsibilities and your desire for self-care, you could successfully heal your mind and soul.
