Adding to the woes, the adverse impact of the slowdown had been disproportionately high on youngsters as compared to the adult . For millions of workers, no income means no food, no security and no future means it’s difficult for them to survive . As the pandemic and the jobs crisis evolve, the need to protect the most [vulnerable](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2494/google-discovers-samsung-and-lg-phones-are-vulnerable-due-to-leaked-certificates) debate becomes even more important for the peoples of India . As job losses escalate, nearly half of global workforce at risk of losing livelihoods in coming days . Millions of businesses around the world are barely [breathing](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/299751/what-causes-breathing-problems) just by the name of few growth in their income . They have no savings or access to credit for their family security in coming future . These are the real faces of the world of work in India.

India will take 'years' to recover from this unemployment crisis which had taken many innocent livelihoods . India's massive work force is being hit hard by coronavirus pandemic since March 2020. [As many as](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/34839/at-its-peak-there-were-as-many-as-20-citrus-packing-houses-in-the-city-of-redlands-how-many-are-left-today) 21 million salaried jobs have been lost between April and August 2020. While salaried jobs are not lost easily, once lost they are also far more difficult to retrieve for better [condition](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/12711/select-query-with-and-condition) . Therefore, their ballooning numbers are a source of worry for many Indians . Salaried jobs were nearly 19 million short of their average in 2019-20 .They were 22% lower than their level in the last [fiscal year](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/104441/what-is-the-fiscal-year-in-india) as said in a post. These jobs take a long time to come back and that depends entirely on the pace of growth of the economy conditions .
