**In the modern [lifestyle](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/311459/tips-and-tools-for-a-healthy-lifestyle), it is very common for children to wear baby diapers. Diapers are undoubtedly a very convenient thing for parents, but it can prove to be [harmful to the health](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/34832/is-it-true-george-washington-believed-political-policies-to-be-harmful-to-the-health-and-prosperity-of-the-united-states) of children (Diapers Danger for baby health).**

Recently, a study done by Toxic Link, an NGO working in the field of [environment](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/308/need-to-create-a-supportive-work-environment-for-women), has revealed that diapers contain hazardous chemicals and plastic parts.

This study report, titled Watts in the Diaper: Presence of Phthalates in Baby Diapers, has expressed concern over the finding of toxic thalamus (chemicals and plastic fractions) in disposable baby diapers [available in the market](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/156309/what-are-all-the-popular-seo-tools-available-in-the-market).

This study has revealed that these tablets cause serious harm to health by disrupting the functioning of endocrine chemicals. The special thing is that they are present not only in the diapers of small [companies](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/85554/why-must-companies-have-a-profile-page-on-mindstick) but also in the diapers made by well-known companies.

During this study, diapers were found to contain excessive amounts of phthalates ranging from 2.36 ppm (million on parts) to 302.25 ppm. It is important to know here that DEHP is considered the most dangerous bags. Its use is prohibited in many baby products. Despite this, its volume in diapers was found to be between 2.36 ppm to 264.94 ppm.

Alka Dubey, the program [coordinator](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95894/who-has-been-appointed-as-the-first-national-maritime-security-coordinator) of Toxics Link, said that during the study, he found that no diaper-making company had displayed the ingredients and chemicals used on their packets.

She said that she will contact the concerned department of the [central government](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32096/which-union-minister-has-launched-e-hrms-for-central-government-employees-to-access-all-service-details) to bring appropriate [guidelines](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/245/software-requirements-and-guidelines-for-developing-android-application) for the manufacture of diapers for children.

Phthalates are a type of chemical. It is used to make plastics flexible, durable, soft, and transparent. Having bags in diapers is very dangerous for children because when children wear them, they get moisture and get rid of diapers and get into contact with their skin.

Studies have revealed that more exposure of skin to the legs can cause dangerous diseases such as kidney/lung problems, cancer, reproductive system problems, [fertility](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2331/how-to-turn-off-ios-s-fertility-tracking-features) issues, neurodevelopment issues, metabolic disorders, diabetes and autism in children.
