Crocodile – Has a V-shaped, pointed snout Alligator – Has a U-shaped, broad snout

Crocodile – Teeth are visible even when the mouth is closed. Alligator – Only upper teeth are visible when the mouth is closed

Crocodile – Found in saltwater and freshwater. Alligator – Prefers freshwater environments like rivers and swamps.

Crocodile – Lighter, olive green or brown, grows up to 23 feet. Alligator – Darker, blackish, grows up to 15 feet

Crocodile – More aggressive and territorial. Alligator – Less aggressive, avoids confrontation.
